Crash bandicoot games!!!

Anyway, I was actually playing Crash Bandicoot 3 recently (on PSP) and to be honest, while I was enjoying looking back on when I was younger (1/2 my age!) I did realise how WipEout Pulse was a much better game, as were nearly all of my PSP games, and I was thinking how much games had come since then, and comparing that to Uncharted! The game mechanics are really simple, like the boss, you jump to avoid, then you jump on his head. It just seems a little shallow, and I much prefer the recent games

So just out of curiousity, Montana, do you think that the 00s have been good for music? The 80s certainly weren't (a decade everyone wants to forget), which would mean it's been three decades since there was any decent music. I'm sorry, but I can't agree with that. Compared to the 80s and 00s the 90s was an oasis of music.

Also, no offense, but I disregard most of your opinions since you seem to hate just about everything.

I think the 2000s were terrible for music, since it solidifed the suckage of the 90s. I happen to like the 80s for the small continuation of the 70s style of music (plus, how could you hate Michael Jackson?). If you really think the 90s was an oasis compared to the 00s and 80s, then I could agree with that from your viewpoint if you were comparing coal to rocks.

And I hate just about everything? You hate a lot of things as well. Are we not all cynical human beings? You love my opinions and you love me. You're just angry because I disagree with you on a menial argument about music between the decades.

lol, I can't say I love all your opinions, and I'd at least like to take you out to dinner before I say I love you. We're all cynical, that is the failure of our generation. But I think you're a bit more cynical than alot I run into, or at least your cynicism is spread out over a a greater variety of topics. I'm not angry, people are always free to disagree especially with such incredibly subjective things such as artistic tastes.

So would you prefer Olive Garden, or Chilis? I'll pick you up at 7:00 *wink*

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

OP: That's a pretty big call, but I'd probably agree, more because as a kid (back then), I would have had more fun with more games (because I didn't know better) than I would now.

Then again, I have access to alot more games now (being able to buy them myself helps alot).

But still, I'm going to say yes, games were more fun back then (but only because I didn't know better with most of them).

Yeah, I go along with that, the 90's were a fantastic time in the world of gaming........ games or series that stood out for me were................

Streets of rage series
Sonic Series
Mario kart
Super mario world
Goldeneye
Guardian heroes
Fighters megamix
Daytona usa
Resident evil series
Metal gear solid 1 (the other Konami/playstation games were in the 00's)
Virtua fighter series
Shinobi 3: return of the ninja master & Revenge of shinobi
Perfect dark
Doom
Quake
Duken nukem 3D
Panzer dragoon
Mortal kombat series
Street fighter 2
Street fighter alpha
Ridge racer series
Killer instinct
and many MANY more...........................

The 00's are pretty good too but the 90's Just edge it for me.

And to weigh in regarding the whole music debate..... i think that 80's and 90's music OWNS all this modern crap thats churned out these days. Manufactured plastic fake rubbish music with no PASSION.

as of music i like alot of the small stuff right now kinda dive bands, like cars can be blue, but the early to mid 90s rocked and rocked out loud

I'm not more cynical than a lot you run into, but I'm cynical for the sake of fun and humor. And I don't argue with your right to disagree, although I think a lot of it stems from someone not being able to make his level work in Little Big Planet .

Chilis is preferred for me. Olive Garden is a total sham. Oh, and pick me up at 9:00. I'm working late nights at Vgchartz that day.

Did someone actually compliment 80s music?!?!?!

I enjoyed the fourth console generation greatly, I'd rank both the SNES and Genesis in my all time top five consoles. However, I thought the fifth console generation was a huge step backwards, clearly the move into 3D was made too early. The only thing that I really liked about the fifth console generation, other than a handful of titles, was PC gaming. I thought the sixth console gen was the best ever thanks to the PS2, Dreamcast and strong PC gaming but I think Sega's exodus from console gaming, Sony's decline and the lack of quality / innovative PC games has really hurt this console generation. Overall I too prefer the games of the 90's but it is still too early to compare considering the years left in this decade.

you forgot Gran Turismo. But yes i agree. Now its more about competitive online which is fun, but a different type of fun than the classics you named.
