Forums - Gaming - Opinion: the 1990´s were far better when it comes to pure fun in gaming.

I loved the 90's. I will never forget them... We were still playing with Power. It's kinda like comics. The 90's was better than the 00s.

Boycotting the following:

1. Yoshi: He ate my car and spit out a toaster.

2. Igglybuff: Totally false advertisement. You can have as many as you like they don't buff nothing.

3. the Terms Hardcore/Softcore... We're talking Video Games. Not Porn.

4. The term Casual as relates to Gamers: We make them sound like outsider's that happen to play games.  If that were the case they'd own a PS3.

5. Donuts.... Beacause I drink Beer...... and the biggest fan of Donuts hates Beer.

6. Boycotts: Their so lame.

This thread proves that even the smartest people can fall victim to nostalgia.

So just out of curiousity, Montana, do you think that the 00s have been good for music? The 80s certainly weren't (a decade everyone wants to forget), which would mean it's been three decades since there was any decent music. I'm sorry, but I can't agree with that. Compared to the 80s and 00s the 90s was an oasis of music.

Also, no offense, but I disregard most of your opinions since you seem to hate just about everything.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

Large chunks of me want to say yes, but the rational voice at the back of my mind (I'll shut him up someday...) is telling me that I've got some rose-tinted glasses on. Still, I can confidently say that JRPGs were better back then, for what it's worth.

I think the problem with 2000 on has been the growth of the industry. With growth comes varying tastes as well as quick buck crap(that most likely shouldn't have seen the light of day.) Growth is a double edged sword and to make matters worse they actually expect you to pay more for it... Geez...

What...? if you like metal, the 80's are pretty much the peak of metal... in certain areas. But by that statement, I assume you don't.

Anyway, OT: To be honest, the 90's were a very good time for gaming. I don't know whether they are better than what we have now, the veriables for making a decision on that are too many, but I love my SNES and PS1 games. More than lots of PS2-3 and 360 games too.

Don't worry, you have Halo 3. You can never become jaded with your baby.

I think the 2000s were terrible for music, since it solidifed the suckage of the 90s. I happen to like the 80s for the small continuation of the 70s style of music (plus, how could you hate Michael Jackson?). If you really think the 90s was an oasis compared to the 00s and 80s, then I could agree with that from your viewpoint if you were comparing coal to rocks.

And I hate just about everything? You hate a lot of things as well. Are we not all cynical human beings? You love my opinions and you love me. You're just angry because I disagree with you on a menial argument about music between the decades.

I agree.

I gotta say no. LBP and MGS4 are the best/most fun games I've ever played. IMO. Before those games, my favorites were SMB3 and SMW. But I never had an N64 or SNES so I didn't get to play a bunch of those games. All I had up until like 1997 was a 1992 PS/1 IBM computer so all I could play was Warcraft 1/2 and I think Red Alert 1.
