Resistance 2's release date is the worst. On November 4, 2008, everybody in the U.S. will be going to the polls and voting to see who will be the next President. So don't be suprised when you see Resistance 2 not sell as much as its suppose to sell.

Nah. It has a whole first week to sell. First day sales might be bad though. And keep in mind, only 55% of those eligable vote, and the 18-29 crowd votes only 30-35%.

People go to the polls, on the way back they pop to gamestop and pick the game up!

Anyway, it is not released in Europe till the 28th

Maybe it is in an attempt to skew the election.

You're forgetting a couple of things:

1. Resistance 2 is largely aimed towards the 16-30 male demographic, who vote in INCREDIBLY small numbers anyways.

2. It's not like you can't just vote and buy the game in one day. Doesn't the game have a midnight launch anyways?

3. My estimations took about a couple seconds, but Resistance 2 will have about 5 days or so of sales in its first week for Vgchartz data. The first day sales might be slightly affected, but the first week won't be by the slightest percent (unless supply problems come up).

4. If anything, election day will motivate more people to go out of their houses and near schools, malls, and stores. They can pick up Resistance 2 on their way by.

Perfect release date for us Europeans anyway ;)

@ Munkeh111- I'm not going to put up with SCEE's usual bullshit, I'm importing Resistance 2 from DVDBoxOffice.com. Delivery is free and it should cost under £35. It's the first time I've imported a game from the States but the site seems to be popular among importers. I should be playing Resistance 2 in under 2 weeks! 

Resistance's demographic is hardly the same as those who actually vote in the elections.

and frankly, it's the perfect time for those who don't vote, to NOT have to sit through hours and hours of boring election coverage and potentially WEEKS of recount.

McCain is going to win because a million young liberals will forgo voting in favor of Resistance 2. Just spoiling the ending for everyone.

Umm, the elections are a good reason to get out of your house. Why not buy a game as well?
