He just said polished, which may happen towards the end of the Wii's life. Hell all you need to do is look at PS2 games when they first come out till the last few of the gen. The difference was amazing. Back on topic, I think as people work out smarter techniques to do things, games on the Wii sure will improve, however I think this depends on how lazy or not the developer is. This is the only thing that I think is stalling improvements. The success of the Wii and casual games has made developers not give a crap and just pump out shit cause they know lots of new non gamers will get suckered into buying it. |
Agreed on the bolded. You've got a point but I would point out the trend of the DS, it was released had some good games at launch, a few early adoptors... but for the first about 2 years it had it's launch titles and a good title every so often... then at the end of those 2 years things exploded and we got really amazing and creative things. Which if you think about it the first year would most likely developers getting familiar with the hardware and seeing how the userbase is growing, start of the second year is when they start develop their serious titles, but in between developers have to make money to stay in business to produce their good money making titles so in the mean time you get about average/below average games that look rushed cause they are rushed cause they need to make money. But when that development cycle is over the market floods with good games and I can see that happening with Wii and in turn those developers could very well actually be working on making really polished games.
