You see, you made the argument for the 360's userbase earlier. That also applies to the ps2. It sold way more copies of GTA because of the userbase and timed-exclusivity. Ps2 sold most games last gen due to userbase. Same with ps1. PS still has no "defining genre"

Your answer is good games sell well on the PS3. Maybe I am wrong, but i cant think of a crappy game that sold well on it.

The PS3 doesn't have that huge 6-10 million copies sold game yet, but its not as bad as you think.

Key point: Gran Turismo in Japan sold 1.7mil copies when the PS2 userbase was at 5.6mil. Gran Turismo breaking 6mil is assured. I don't think any other currently announced games will sell that high - it's possible GTAIV and GT will be alone up there. Sony doesn't have any huge franchises besides GT, obviously they've been trying to change that. I honestly don't think they're capable of doing it, though. Their games are usually too generic (not that I don't enjoy them, but it won't stand up in sales).
