Forums - Nintendo - Capcom to produce new virtual console games

From www.the-magicbox.com

"Capcom's producer Keiji Inafune revealed tidbit his game projects.

  • Dead Rising 2 is not currently in development, but Inafune said he would gladly be the producer of the game
  • With Wii's Virtual Console, he thinks it is easier to develop 2D games because they can be sold more economically than games on the shelves
  • Capcom will announced new, original Virtual Console games sometimes this year
  • There are no plans for sequels of Okami or Viewtiful Joe right now
  • Capcom does not plan to port Okami to Wii like Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition "

By VC, I assume he means Wii Ware?

No, I think they actually do mean Virtual Console. No reason why you couldn't create a new title for it (using one of the existing platforms)...

Be a first - new SNES/N64 title ;)

We will see - could be wrong, bad translation or something.

Nocturnal is helping companies get cheaper game ratings in Australia:

Wii code: 2263 4706 2910 1099

That's cool, I hope other developers are thinking like this...about the original Wii content anyway...not the porting...though if it has to be one or the other, I'd rather them make new downloadable games for the Wii than port Okami...because at least we can still play Okami on PS2.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Maybe we'll finally get Mega Man 9.

Though I thought I heard there WAS a next gen Viewtiful Joe sequel that was supposed to bring the gameplay into full 3D. Guess it was just rumors.

Oh please for the love of god let this mean Inafune is going to make Mega Man 9 or X9. I swear to god that would make me the happiest person on the planet.
