Halo 2 and Halo 3 are in between the fastest-selling video games in the history. As a matter of fact, Halo 3, followed by Halo 2, is the fastest-selling exclusive game. A new Halo game is within sight: Halo Wars.

What will the sales of Halo Wars be like? Will its first week sales be approximately 4,000,000, or will it even come close to Halo 3, perhaps due to its genre?

anything up to 1 million is possible, but not more. Halo 3: Recon could sell about 1,5-2 million first week (if it's worth it)

I don't see it coming close, as it isn't a First-Person Shooter. Lots of people like the name, but they're smart enough to know it isn't Halo 4 or something like that. around 2.5-3 million lifetime sales.

No, Halo 3: Recon will continue the trend.

Why, well because Halo Wars is like a side quest. Where as Halo 3: Recon is a side-quest but it ties well into what Bungie wants us to know about the Halo universe.

Anything Bungie makes is what continues the trend of Halo. Sorry Microsoft but its true.

console RTS is nowhere near as popular as console FPS

If Halo Wars gets good press and is actually good, it might creep past 1 million, but it would take a near miracle for it to hit anything like Halo 2 or 3 numbers in terms of overall sales or "quickest to..." records.

Maybe, I think people know it is not an FPS. Sales are not going to be anywhere near the FPS Halos. I will buy it though.
