The Palestinian isn't a radical. This rumored video is news because the Palestinian is a leader in a prominent Palestinian leader in a US/PA political org and Obama supposedly said something that can be construed as anti-Israeli. It isn't shocking that a Palestinian in a US political group is speaking out against Israel is it? AND that is hardly "radical".

i.e. this is a non-issue and LATimes is ignoring it because too many people will make a lot of noise about nothing.

Personally, I would love a president who was anti-Israel. This way we could actually get a real peace negotiation.

Isn't that like saying that you would love a principle at a school to be anti-geek so there would be less conflicts with them and the bullies?

yeah, the Palestinians are bullies. sure.

You see my point is US is way too pro-Israel so the Palestinian viewpoint is largely ignored. That can't possible create peace. 'anti-Israeli' was probably a poor choice of a word. We need a president who is not on the APAIC payroll. Unfortunately all polictians have to be annoyingly pro-Israeli because our media has entrenched false truths into our population about the conflict.

I hope Obama is a radical and I only support his campaign in hopes that he is. Only someone not blinded by ignorance, someone who can see the U.S for the cesspool that it is can help bring any sort of change to a hopeless situation.

Palin and her husband are involved with the Alaska Independence Party, they actually want to leave the United States and start their own country. How patriotic is that?

What many of you dont understand is that Bill Ayers, this Palestinian guy, and many other such figures are professors and community leaders. They serve on numerous educational boards, they attend university and city functions. Barrack Obama and many other people (even conservative Republicans) know these people because its their job. If you are Chicago's education board and Bill Ayers is the head of the education department at a university, you are required to meet him and talk about education.

If you are white and insane no one cares.  It just matters if you are a minority and you are a radical.

Actually ... When watching CNN they did a truthbusters segment on Sarah Palin's "connection" to the Alaska Independence Party and said any claims associating the two were false.

At the same time, anyone who would defend Bill Ayers because he is a professor and that some how compensates for his attempt to murder dozens of people really needs to reconsider their priorities. There are enough ways to change the direction of government in a democracy that any act of (murderous) treason is completely unforgiveable.

Edit: At the same time I think your comment is (kind-of) ironic because you seem not to about a white insane person (Bill Ayers).

But you forget that Obama is black and "might be a terrorist".  Ayers is just a means to an end to reinforce the myth that Obama is a turban-wearing, Islam loving, pita eating terrorist.  Plus, Ayers is a professor, and the GOP loves to badmouth intellectuals and "elitists."

Really?  You think the fact that someone worked closley with someone who bombed the pentagon is a means to an end?

That in of itself is usually the kind of thing that would make it hard for someone to even get elected to a city council.  Though nobody cares about Ayers because he was bombing during vietnam... vietnam was unpopular and he got off because the feds overstepped in trying to find him.

To most people pretty much anything was ok to stop the vietnam war or something.  I mean the guy is a professor now... and considered a well known and well respected one.

The weird thing too is i'm pretty sure Psych a tv show on the USA network based an episode off the whole thing.

Ayers doesn't matter because when Ayers was a terrorist Obama was a child and had obviously no connection to those actions. When Obama was an adult and worked with Ayers, Ayers was a highly rewarded individual and leading professor in Chicago where Obama was running his social programs. In fact I would bet that when Obama first met him and worked with him, he didn't even know Ayers' past.

Do you know all of the bad/good things your co-workers did 20 years ago?

No but i'm pretty sure i'd know if one of them bombed the freaking pentagon.

I mean, I know which of my coworkers lost their liscenses for sleeping with their patients and which ones have been caught cheating.

Bombing the Pentagon is a bit more gossip worthy i'd think.

I think it'd come up... somewhere.

What for someone who is a politician who's apperance and assosiations are basically his currency.

I'm just saying that every time the GOP mentions Ayers they mention the word terrorist in the same sentence.  Its not a coincidence that they reinforce this point since many people have speculated that Obama might be a terrorist.

What if Ayers had tried to blow up an abortion clinic?  Hell, it would probably HELP Obama, at least with conservative voters.  And liberal voters probably would overlook it since Obama's stance on abortion is pretty clear.  Not to mention if Ayers had done this he wouldn't be a terrorist in Sarah Palin's eyes.

The whole thing is a smokescreen, and if anyone thinks the GOP would pounce on this story like they have if the word terrorist wasn't in it, they are deluding themselves.

Voters haven't responded to it either, which is why the GOP has put up and shut up about Ayers.  The American people don't care.  Your fearmongers on the right genuinely care, but they already support McCain.

Cause Ayers is a terrorist? What do you call someone who blows up the Pentagon.

Also, someone blowing up an abortion clinic? That's comparable to blowing up the Pentagon? Do you know what they do at the Pentagon?

Blowing up the Pentagon is about 100 times as bad... and actually a direct attack on the actual government.

Aside from which, Obama's abortion stance is actually one of the biggest problems liberals have with Obama. His stance against partial birth abortions is a big red flag.

Partial Birth abortions really not being what people make them out to be... and politicians should know that.

The average person who is against partial birth abortions it's understandable because you don't really research what they are.

People against partial birth abortions who are polticians are doing one of three things also uninformed, anti-abortion, or just playing to their constituats who are uninformed rather then try to educate them.

For Obama it's obviously one or three.  Neither of which being that favorable.

One thing you have to consider is that even if you generated a completely independant and free Palestine the middle east would still not be peaceful ... Palestine is just the excuse for mad-men to call for the destuction of Israel and the extermination of the Jewish people who live within Israel; and if Palestine is no longer a viable excuse another issue will pop up immediately.

I could be entirely wrong, but the only thing I can imagine will actually bring long term peace to the middle east would be to make all of the countries capitalist democracies that trade with eachother. I know this goes against the beliefs of many Progressive minded people, but you can never find peace with a country that is ruled by a man who maintains his power by promising to destroy you. Capitalist democracies that trade with eachother do not go to war with eachother because they both have far too much to lose from it.

I mean, maybe you don't know this... but since partial birth abortion has been made illegal do you know what one of the option suggested instead is?

Dismembering the fetus in the womb. Yeah... that's way less gruesome.

I'm not for partial birth abortion, but I don't think Obama is going to try and advance an aggressive abortion agenda.  I am confident he will just keep the status quo and fight against any further restrictions on abortion.

He's smart enough to know that doing otherwise wouldn't further his political aspirations at all, and he will have plenty of other things to worry about anyways.

Edit: And why is attacking private citizens any less of a terrorist act than attacking the government?  The 9/11 attacks against the World Trade Center weren't against government officials.  Does that make them any less bad?  That seems to be what you are arguing.

You'd have to get an actuary for that one.

The Pentagon is the center of the department of defense.  A successful attack on that is going to screw up the country a lot more then the maybe 10 people who would be killed by a bombing of an abortion clinic.

What number of people equal a successful attack on the pentagon, i don't know... more then those in an abortion clinic.
