But you forget that Obama is black and "might be a terrorist".  Ayers is just a means to an end to reinforce the myth that Obama is a turban-wearing, Islam loving, pita eating terrorist.  Plus, Ayers is a professor, and the GOP loves to badmouth intellectuals and "elitists."

Really?  You think the fact that someone worked closley with someone who bombed the pentagon is a means to an end?

That in of itself is usually the kind of thing that would make it hard for someone to even get elected to a city council.  Though nobody cares about Ayers because he was bombing during vietnam... vietnam was unpopular and he got off because the feds overstepped in trying to find him.

To most people pretty much anything was ok to stop the vietnam war or something.  I mean the guy is a professor now... and considered a well known and well respected one.

The weird thing too is i'm pretty sure Psych a tv show on the USA network based an episode off the whole thing.

I'm just saying that every time the GOP mentions Ayers they mention the word terrorist in the same sentence.  Its not a coincidence that they reinforce this point since many people have speculated that Obama might be a terrorist.

What if Ayers had tried to blow up an abortion clinic?  Hell, it would probably HELP Obama, at least with conservative voters.  And liberal voters probably would overlook it since Obama's stance on abortion is pretty clear.  Not to mention if Ayers had done this he wouldn't be a terrorist in Sarah Palin's eyes.

The whole thing is a smokescreen, and if anyone thinks the GOP would pounce on this story like they have if the word terrorist wasn't in it, they are deluding themselves.

Voters haven't responded to it either, which is why the GOP has put up and shut up about Ayers.  The American people don't care.  Your fearmongers on the right genuinely care, but they already support McCain.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S.
