For 360, IGN US gave it an 8.3 and IGN AU gave it an 8.5/10

360 version also got a 8.5/10 (they gave BD a 6.0, ToV an 8.5, IU a 6.5 and LO a 7.5)

Both reviews said the game looks better then the 360 version (you would hope so) and that the added story elements, cutscenes and music really flesh out the game and improve the overall quality.

IGN gave ToV an 8.2. So they like Eternal Sonata better than Tales of Vesperia? What I've heard from most people is ToV is much better, but it's all opinion I guess... I think reviews on JRPG's are even more worthless than usual.

I'm getting ES either way, once I can find it cheap. I haven't played a new home console JRPG in far too long.

Keep in mind that ES 360 was released in August 2007 and the bar for JRPG's on the 360 was lower then what it was when ToV was released. I'm sure if the 360 version (as it is now) was released in August 2008 it wouldn't have scored as high.

As for the PS3 version, I'm pretty surprised at the 8.7, I was expecting between 8.0 - 8.3. Maybe Ryan Clements of IGN was all giddy about the PS3 getting another JRPG that he bumped it up a few points.

Hmm, sounds like the PS3 version is superior. Regardless, the 360 version has substantially better box art. I am not sure which version I would buy if I had too choose, considering the 360 version is cheap now.

those are ratings.

the reviewer didn't say that, the game looks exactly like the 360 version.

I actually like the PS3 Boxart better, as I prefer the background color

although i like the Japanese PS3 boxart the best

The PS3 one is the only logical one to get if you have 2 consoles. The story has been extended bigtime, and some stuff that was bad in the game, was fixed.

Looks like they fixed a horrendously broken game. Gratz PS3 owners. :D

IMO, the 360 version of the game is godaweful. :P
