Forums - Nintendo - A heads-up for the hesitant: Wii Music comprehensive review coming soon

Amazon has confirmed that my Wii Music order should be arriving on Monday, and as a few may have gathered from (very) recent comments, I fully intend to give the game a thorough and (hopefully) low-bias review when it comes in.  Given the incredible lack of integrity I have seen in game reviews of late, I felt it was more or less necessary to give the game a thorough analysis, so let's get on to what you can expect.

+ A new topic on Monday to open the events
+ A full breakdown of my "gaming credentials" relating to Wii Music
+ A surface-level "first impressions" review of Wii Music
+ Monkeys*
+ An in-depth look at what Wii Music can do
+ Concluding statements and analyses of the game
+ An Infinite Improbability Drive**
+ One of those "overall score" breakdowns you see everywhere, with a twist or six
+ Possibly more, depending on what I have time and patience for***

So keep your eyes open for the festivities to begin on Monday, and feel free to make suggestions.****  This should be fun!*****

* - Monkeys may or may not actually appear in the final product.
**  - The Heart of Gold may not be available when the review begins; we still haven't worked out the probability factor, and Zaphod went joyriding with it again.
*** - This space for rent.
**** - Suggestions involving taking my taste in games and shoving them into various unpleasant things will be ignored, but thoroughly laughed at based on their comedic merit.
***** - I take no responsibility if this turns out to not be fun.  Also, I'm getting tired of typing asterisks now, so I think that's quite enough from me.

talking about wii music review. If you read french, you should visit www.gamekult.com It's a hardcore game site and they gave wiimusic a 3/10. They say this game is bullshit, you do not even play the game, you just have to press a button every 5 sec...

LOL, good, I'll wait for your review. I'm interested in this game but still haven't decided. I'm waiting to see more convincing stuff on Youtube. I looked in Amazon and it has been receiving good scores, only two trolls there that gave it 1 star before the game was released, but other than that people seems to like it.

I'm looking forward to the creation part, I'd like if you try to create something new, not playing an ingame music, but creating a new one. I'd like to know if that's possible, or how complex is it to do.

This review had better be good if it deserves it's own messenger. I like your offer of monkeys so I will not kick your thread into the endless hole that for some reason exists in the middle of Sparta.

You're damn right there's gonna be monkeys!

In a remarkable stroke of luck, the game arrived today instead of Monday. Meaning I can actually put in some extra effort, record more content, and generally make the end product a lot better. We're still sticking to the target start date, though. The extra time allotted to me will be put to good use, rest assured, so keep your eyes open for the new Wii Music review topic on Monday, 6PM PST!

I look forward to it, I've seen a few videos on youtube pop up of wii music. I'm constantly amazed on how the same song can sound so different with this game. I hope that your review will push some of the wii-music hate outta the world.

Why must JRPG female leads suck so bad?

did you see screwattacks thing on wii music. The game is pathectic

It seems to be a continuing theme around here to cling to a handful of reviews that make the game look bad, or to nitpick and belittle any review that makes the game look good... Anyway, I refuse to allow a jaded reviewer to determine how much I enjoy or don't enjoy a game, especially when (as is becoming rapidly apparent of Wii Music) the game in question is of the "you get out of it what you put into it" sort. A bad review of that kind of game tends to indicates a player who went into the experience with nothing and got nothing out of it because they put nothing into it.

I've said more than enough, however. On Monday, the truth will be revealed.
