EA jumps ship, whenever they can, i have no respect for that company at all.

yeah i agree, most of the exclusive titles for the wii are garbage. majesco has like 10 shitty games in there.

Thank you. Some Nintendo person needed to say this. Some of those titles ARE and WILL be good, but some of them WILL NOT. It is great for the Wii they are getting exclusives. More power to it. But let's not bust out the confetti til some of these games receive good reviews.

If this is a permanent trend, however, it could be very bad for the 360 and the PS3, especially if some of the big name developers jump ship. EA is doing a pretty good job courting the Wii audience. Hell, I really want Boogie, that game looks badass. The Sims games I could pass on though, but A LOT of people like those.

Edit:

Not all PS and 360 downloadable games should count (like Super-Rub-A-Dub and Symphony of the Night, old PS1 games and other old system games), but some of them are legitimate and engaging games that offer an alternative to the larger scale games, kind of like Wii Sports and Wii Play. There is a fine line, and I sure as hell don't know where to draw it, but to say none of them count is misguided.

I agree with almost all of this.

One more time:

Pre-November 2006: The PS3 will dominate this generation. The Wii may be Nintendo's last console.

January 2007: Okay, the Wii is selling well right now, but it's just a fad. It will fade by March.

March 2007: Okay, the Wii is still selling well, but where are the games? There are very few games announced for the Wii.

June/July 2007: Okay, the Wii now has way more exclusive titles announced than either other system, but where are the games I like?

One more time:

How is this a counter to what I said.

And point out to me where I said those things outside of the 3rd party games being crappy.

Lastly, I want you to tell me that the majority of those games aren't garbage.

Also those Conspiracy games were announced long ago and there are PS3 exclusives mysteriously left out.

Just cause the wii cant have download games because of its less then PS3 hardware capability, download able games should not count .

Obviously, you're aware that the Wii has such a capability.

The reason they don't count, as any rational human being should easily understand, is that if you want to make such a list, you decide on a set of arbitrary rules before hand, and then follow them. The list is ongoing since October, updated monthly since March, and the rules haven't changed - only the leader.

If you don't agree with the list and its rules, please do take the trouble to publish your own, making clear your own set of rules, and following them without just changing them if ever your list ends up sheding a bad light on your console of choice.

and of course, every single PS3 and Xbox360 game is going to be perfect.

All consoles will get garbage. If you look at the numbers of "proven franchises" coming out, what do you see? Wii has the biggest number (As Bodhesvata pointed out).

I don't understand why everyone is fighting here. This list is talking about exclusive games. Clearly, the Wii has the most. It's as simple as that. If you don't like the metrics used, then make your own bloody list. Until you do that, shut up and just accept the fact that Wii has more exclusives than any other current gen console right now, and that they added a metric arseload during E3.

That's the facts. No need to put yourself into "defend the PS3" mode. We all know that the list of games that are on both the 360 and PS3 is large. THAT IS NOT THE POINT.

I second this, if games like Warhawk, Wipeout HD, GT Prologue, Socom Confrontation and Little Big Planet should be counted as exclusive games on this list. Especially that at least 2 of those are also getting retail releases. One has to wonder why they are completely ignored on this list.

Repost:

29 3rd party games that will sell ok to great:

Balls of Fury;
Bleach: Shattered Blade;
Cruis'n;
Chocobo's Dungeon: The City of Forgotten Time;
Boogie;
Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party;
Dewy's Adventure;
Dragon Blade: Wrath of Fire;
EA Playground;
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Crystal Bearers;
Geometry Wars: Galaxies;
Ghost Squad;
Harvest Moon Wii;
Medal of Honor Heroes 2;
Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution;
No More Heroes;
Rayman Raving Rabbids 2;
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles;
Soul Calibur Legends;
Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure;
My Sims.

Again, a little easier to read since you guys like lists. Yes most of the games are garbage. But these will probably sell well. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Having a budget and being a non-PS2 port (I saw at least 5 on there...I think someone counted 11) certainly helps when it comes to being a good title. Anyways, this flame-baiting should stop. Things are going great for the Wii, things are looking much better for the PS3, and the 360 should have a good holiday season and should get some more momentum from a price cut/hardware revision.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. The question is simple, as a Wii owner do you prefer Ninja Bread Man as an exclusive or Resident Evil 5 as a multiplatform game that also comes out on Wii?

I think that a lot of the drama in this thread was caused by windbane on one side, and your mother and Bodhesatva on the other, talking past each other.  I could be wrong, and I could be walking into a firestorm, but here goes anyway:

Windbane says, "You should count the games that are on 360 and PS3 but not Wii against Wii's exclusives."

YM & B say, "You are smoking crack.  Those games are on two systems, therefore not exclusives, therefore irrelevant.  Q.E.D."

I may not agree with the conclusion windbane is trying to draw, but I think he makes a very potent observation:  for the first time, there is a PATTERN of two systems getting many games while a third goes in its own direction.  It's true that -- for instance -- RE4, in the last gen, made it to PS2 but not Xbox, but I believe that and a few other games were anomalies, whereas this is a true trend emerging.  (RE4, as you know, was a wildly popular third-party exclusive to a console that had about 20% of the sales numbers of the top-selling console, so there was enormous pressure to port it to the PS2, whereas there was no such pressure to port it to Xbox.)

So while RE5 may not be EXCLUSIVE to either the PS3 or the 360, it is what we might call a "disexclusive" against the Wii.

At the same time, there is an opposite trend emerging of games being made for the Wii which, due to that system's unique control interface, will be awkward, difficult, and perhaps in some cases outright impossible to port to other systems.

So while in one sense it is utter nonsense to stack the Wii against both the 360 and the PS3, in another light it may be very reasonable in terms of what games are going to what consoles.
