aside from stocks analysts not necessarily knowing more than any of us... they need to play safe. why risk your job when you can go with extrapolating statistics and not deviate too much from the predictions of your fellow colleagues? for most, there's little to gain by being "right", even if you don't even believe in your own report.

The two branches of stock analysis: 1) predicting what will happen, and 2) explaining why it didn't.  Only the cautious survive.

The urge to play is a terrible thing to waste.

Analysts are about as honest as mobsters. These people are so crooked they are one step removed from organized crime. They will sell snow to eskimoes if they think they can get away with it.

BUT the one who is willing to take a calculated risk will win big at the end...people like Steve Jobs, and Nintendo CEO(whatever his name is) are such people.

When your parents-in-laws are start to come to your house to play wii, you can either hate Nintendo or might as well try make some money out of these craziness.

If Wii wins this generation...

I expect my net worth to double.

If Wii wins this generation the stock will double your net worth every year.  No idea how many years it could just keep doubling, depends on growth and how much software/games Nintendo can move.  The Wii is only 20% of Nintendo's earnings, so the bottom line has room to grow.

Did the value of the gaming market expand by 30% this year?  I swear that a year ago the gaming market was valued at $30B a year, but last week I saw an article that said it was worth $39B.  Mind boggling if the gaming market is growing at 30% a year.

Tough stock to just hold though, the way it swings depending on the yen, or the economy, or some obscure news.  I have been about to sell out 3 times in less than a year, but each time I decided to use the dip to increase my holdings.

I am betting my early retirement plan on Apple and Nintendo....if Nintendo wins this generation or Apple can win the computer and phone markets, I will retire happily. Either one will do.

And I truly believe they are going to do very well. Both Nintendo and Apple has hit a home run with their new products.

PS. My mother-in-law is deciding to buy a wii now. She does not even know who is Mario and now she is buying a wii. This will be her first video game console.

This is strange. My mother-in-law is starting to stay all night playing video games? What in the world is going on?

We might take a hit on Monday. The dollar got beaten to a pulp on Friday. This stock really seems to overreact to currency. We'll probably float around $50-60 this month. Once earnings come into play, hopefully there will be another run. The only thing that could really hurt would be if the dollar slid badly and there was a recession. Of course most stocks would probably suffer in that scenario.

I think the way to make real money in the stock market is to believe in a stock that is not in line with what the stock analyst.

Ntdoy seems to fit this.

I have been buying and selling the stock since May when the analyst kept saying the run up was over.

Coming to this board most people here believe Nintendo is going to do better than what is expected if it comes true there should be a payoff in the stock price.

I would expect to see 80 out of this stock by the end of the year and believe it could do much better.

I bought a Wii back in May for the simple reason to see if I wanted to buy the stock.

Alright guys, I'm looking to buy in. Nothing too big, maybe a grand. Figure soon is a good time to do so since it's bear market.

What broker did you guys use to buy through?
