Hilarious. WTF does Kim do all day?

Brings up 2 year old games as news apparently.

That's just ... unusual

I could understand a PR representative announcing Resident Evil 5 in an interview or small press conference as if it was something new, but to have it as a centerpiece in a major industry event as a new game is just unbelievable. This will probably ammount to nothing in the end, but I think that someone needs to be fired because of their incompetence.

Someone on Kotaku suggested he might have confused RE5 with Silent Hill 5 which WAS announced for the 360 (and PS3) at E3. In that case, Kim was just confused, not oblivious.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Ohh...I can see him mixing up Silent Hill 5 with Resident Evil 5, if he's oblivious anyway.

Then this makes a little bit more sense...

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

In related and not really surprising news, RE5 confirmed for the PC.

SPOnG: Two titles I mainly wanted to talk to you about today were Devil May Cry 4 and Resident Evil 5. What’s new in Devil May Cry 4? And, what was the thinking behind Resi Evil 5 being set in Africa, for example?

Keiji Inafune: Well, I’m overseeing production on those titles, as well as all Capcom’s other titles, so I can only really answer general questions on those titles. For specific questions you’re better checking out the demos outside – and check with the game’s producer [indicates DMC4 producer, Kobayashi-san] out there.

As for Resident Evil 5, all we’ve done is shown the trailer and we’ve been instructed not to say anything more to anybody. Not just you press guys. Anyone; other than it is scheduled for release next year on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

More interesting stuff in there like how/why DMC4 went to 360....

Well now there is only one reson to replace my old PS3 and that is FF XIII. There is only one reason for me to get a 360 and that is Dead Rising in other words I guess I am not going to need either RE 5 with the PS3 controller on the PC will do me fine better actually with true 1600P resolution I can't pass it up.

I personally think this sounds insane.

I mean, it seriously sounds like they don't know what they're doing.

If I were an analyst reading this, and it looked like they actually didn't know their 'big announcement' wasn't a big announcement, I'd start connecting the Peter Moore-billion dollar design error-Robbie Bach illegal share sale dots and think: These guys don't have a fucking clue, no way I'm recommending them.

I swear, at next years meeting, if they don't turn the promised profit, the curtains will be coming down.

Wow, this is disappointing news for me, as the more I am reading the less I want a 360. It sounds like microsoft bought hundreds of games for it's first years, and now their out of steam. Comeon, if RE5 is the best they can throw at us, and then be dumbfound, and have nothing else to give us... What do they have left other than Halo3?

(it is funny tho. Very very VERY funny!)
EDIT: This thread is funny.

Umm didn't you see Microsoft's E3 press conference?  There're a few reasons why Sony has admitted defeat for this Christmas season even before it begins and the 360's lineup is one of those reasons.

The system I'm really worried about running out of steam is the PS3.  I mean 3rd party sales have been pretty horrible on it and it's likely that it'll lose the amount of support it has now because many of the big games we're seeing for it were planned when everyone thought the PS3 was actually going to be a hit.  I have to wonder if Sony studios will be able to keep it in the race like Nintendo did with the Gamecube.

Yep admiting defeat with 3 exclusive games, mass effect, halo 3, and splinter cell. Also your completly right the ps3 is running completely out of steam, even as it out sells the 360 worldwide. Even with the 15 exclusive games line up coming this fall, ps3 is nowhere near the sales the 360 will make this holiday all cuz of halo 3.

Well RE4 just came on the PC, so of course 5 would wait a little for any PC announcement.

wonder if it will live up to RE4 since its an entirely different team working on it. We'll just have to wait and see I guess.

Is it being made for the 360 and ported to PS3 or vice versa?
