Forums - Sales Discussion - Do consoles really sell THAT MUCH during the holidays?

What is there to understand unless you can't comprehend a simple graph of sales? And if that's the case, there is no point in explaining it.

In most years (for most 'living' consoles) between 40% and 50% of hardware sales happens between October 1st and December 31st

Don't underestimate the magic of Christmas.

Yes, however this year could run low due to the impending recession, although so far system sales seem to be holding up.

Dude, how long have you been living?
Seriously the holidays is when sales for all products go up. The Wii, 360, PS3 will all see a significant boost this holiday season. This question isn't anything new.

I think so.

Wii does. 360 and PS3 combined won't sell as much as Wii. But even the almost dead system PSP will sold like crazy in the holidays season.
