But by the time Nintendo put Ds-Wii into place there will be over 50 million DS's sold worldwide, and probably about 25 million PSP's. I mean I'm sure Sony could maybe sell some PS3's doing what you said, but they've certainly not marketed it very well and in terms of gameplay idea's I've seen nothing other then using it as a rear-view-mirror in a racing game (lol).
What Sony are trying to do with PSP-Ps3 connectivity seems very nishe to me, I really don't see that many people using what you just described, whereas I think DS-Wii could be very different, depending on what Nintendo does with it.
I think for gaining sales DS is in a league of it's own in terms of connecting with it's respected console. Until Sony give it any sort of marketing whatever they try to do with it is going to go ignored.
