8.0	Presentation Better load times and split-screen races are great additions. It doesn't feel quite as fresh as the first game, however.
8.5	Graphics The lighting is fantastic and the courses are very dense, but some of the textures could have been much sharper. The crashes are of course awesome.
8.0	Sound The soundtrack is good, though just your general licensed mix of appropriate racing tunes. The vehicle and crashing effects are well done.
8.0	Gameplay The controls are good, but not as tight as could be. The chaos and destruction is still there in full force, and the track design is great. There could be more event variety, however.
8.0	Lasting Appeal There are plenty of events to conquer, and the online will last you a good while.

8.5	Presentation The festival theme remains but all of the issues from MotorStorm – painful loading times, the clunky ticket system and so on – have all been refined to create a much slicker overall experience.
9.0	Graphics MotorStorm demonstrated the potential of PlayStation 3 superbly and Pacific Rift is no slouch either. Bursting with detail and colour, it runs smoothly and the sensation of speed is awesome.
8.0	Sound The chest-rattling growl of nitro-charged engines is as intoxicating as ever and the edge-of-seat action is complimented by a suitably – and by that we mean predictable – rawk soundtrack.
8.5	Gameplay There little difference between how Pacific Rift and the original MotorStorm plays, but that’s no bad thing considering the first game was such fun.
8.0	Lasting Appeal This is bare-bones racing so you’ll see pretty much everything the game has to offer in a matter of hours, but add in the on- and offline multiplayer it’ll keep you going until the first DLC hits PSN.

It was expected

Sounds like a SOLID racer. I would pick it up if I had cash left over from the games I plan on buying this and early next year.

Not bad. How come IGN UK liked it that more, I don't see. lulz.

Solid score. Not exceptional but very solid... Pretty much as expected if not a bit higher then I expected.

Some pretty good reviews; can't say I'm surprised that IGN UK rated it higher. I'm getting this game for sure. Granted, I probably won't be able to get it until Christmas, but I'm definitely getting it. Played the demo a ton of times, and it's lots of fun. I just wish it was a bit easier to turn the Monster Truck. >_

Day one purchase for me as well.
