In the end they were deceptive, intentionally so. And no amoutn of splitting hairs on the grounds of semantics is going to help anyone in this argument.

Mjah the problem i have with the 5 hour cycle is that after one year the battery already lost 80% of it's capacity, so only 4 hours are left. And due to the variable and heavy duty enviroment the psp offers it will likely be more then that 80%.

Thats the bad thing about those battery reviews, they do it once when the system and battery is brand new and then they just take it as a non time varying fact.

I'm assuming the PSP battery is about like the DS battery in the way it degrades a small amount with each charge and I'm sure it takes longer than a year to degrade 20%. The DS is something like after 500 charges it drops to about 70% of its life. I know the PSP has a short battery life, but I imagine it lasts long enough so that you don't charge it 500 times in a year.

The psps main problem is it has that moving drive doesnt it? Seems like a bad design choice for a portable, IMO. But I guess thats sony, pushing their storage mediums, teehee.

I can't find the quote but I'm pretty sure even Jack Tretton admitted the UMD was a stupid idea.
