Heh, I just bought an Arcade yesterday. I thought it was a fantastic deal.

$199 for the console
$30 for 20GB Hard Drive + 3 months of Live Gold (which I will be selling) from xboxstorageupgrade.com
$15 for component cables via Amazon.com

$245 for nearly the same thing you get with a Pro. I was pleased with the price but haven't spent more than 15 minute on it so far, so I can't speak much of the console yet.

That's not to say that it wasn't a bad idea in the first place...

Yes the ps3 have outsold by more 1.5 millions for 2008.

360 starting outselling recently.

 

 

Isn't that just Worldwide though? US wide the 360 should still be winning year to date. Given the current rate It's going to be pretty damn close with the recent price drop. Not really suprising since the 360 came out a year earlier and the PS3 is down to $400 - Most people interested in owning multiple consoles already own a 360 so will save for a Wii or PS3.



It's just that simple.

Arcade totally sucks. They shouldn't even consider it a 360.

They should say "360 starting at $300", and the Arcade for $200 but it sucks.

It touts itself as being the choice for those who want to mainly play Xbox Live Arcade titles yet you get poor representations of what the system has to offer. Makes very little sense to me."

 Nah they are, just not NEARLY as much as they were back in 2007 but yeah they still are, IGN's homepage is "Xbox that" or "360 this" if thats not biased i dunno what is.

They really stabbed microsoft in the heart with that one. Probably unfairly too, if your getting a console for $199 even if you cant go on live its still not a bad deal.....

Well one thing I find BS is their saying of Dev's can't rely on hardware space. You know for the few games that need an install now a days.


I praise the arcade for not having a hard-drive to keep us from having to have those installs. I never want to ever buy a game on a console that has me install something. that is something I am annoyed on my computer, and I loved the pop and play that consoles had.

I would hate the day when borrowing video games is like same as computers. Where i have to worry about freeing up space if need, and then freeing up later cause I don't have the game and thus don't need the 5 gig or whatever install.

Buy the cheapest console. Buy some great games. Play it.

What sucks about that? Last time I checked (it's been a while), the Arcade 360 could play every retail game that an Elite could. Not everyone who buys the 360 is going to go online. Not everyone owns an HDTV. Some people just want a good console and some good games.
