Haha, for the most part no. A big part of KH's buyers are casuals - the Wii has both casuals and core. If they want to expand the HD consoles are not the way to go. The Wii is the only way to go for expansion, especially for a series like KH. Disney aren't going to skip that chance.

what are you basing this on? Just because it has Disney characters in it? Was there some Poll I wasn't aware of, or maybe a fan response letter mailed to each person that bought the game?

I'm a "hardcore" gamer that loves RPGS and finds nostalgic pleasure in playing a game with Disney characters in it. However, Disney was a bonus, not a key selling point. The fact it was an SE RPG was the selling point. I'm willing to be there are more people out there like me that bought it then there are people who bought it because it seemed "casual".

Eh...let's not get into this huge argument.

Dude it's Disney...don't tell me you don't expect casuals to buy into a Disney game? I'm NOT saying core gamers don't buy it because that would be the most stupid statement I've ever said ever, but casuals are still a part of KH's sales. Not to mention it's a mainstream franchise. Saying KH isn't bought by casuals is like saying FF isn't bought by casuals which is a huge WRONG. A lot of people buy things just because it's popular you know ;3

IDK about some letter/poll thing. I don't think that happened. I've never even heard about that.

Listen, I'm not saying core gamers don't matter to KH because like I said before that would be a stupid statement, but the HD consoles are filled with people who care about their HD graphics and surround system and such - not the people you'd expect to buy KH. Not saying some people wouldn't buy into it because they originally like it because that's wrong, but taking away a big part of the fanbase which HD consoles barely have (casuals) would cut sales a lot. It would sell less on the HD consoles because of that + a big budget would make you decrease your fanbase and expenses, not expand which is what they want to do, and many other companies want to as well (look at this thread).

I'm not trying to start an argument either, although I wouldn't have time even if I wanted to since I'm in a coffee shop at my University and i got class in 15 minutes.

My problem with what you said isn't that casuals do/do not buy KH, it's just that the way you phrase it sounds like Casuals make up the majority of people that buy the game. It may in fact be true, but it's a pretty strong statement to make with little concrete evidence.

I agree with everything else you've said and without a doubt the game would sell the most on the Wii. (although a PS3/360 Multi release would produce similar sales but less Net profit bcause of Dev costs) So to bring the casual aspect into sales I don't think is even needed and only causes problems rather then leading to a conslusion. Now if you said something like "a lot of parents who've never heard of KH will buy their kids the game just because it has Mickey on the front" I would agree, even though that is still speculative. But based on the fact that even the worst crap Disney produces still sells like hotcakes (Disney Princess Movies I'm looking at you), that statement I just made is quite possible and believeable.

Now as tri-console owner who can buy it wherever it goes, I would prefer PS3, but if it does end up on the Wii (or the 360) then just as well, as long as it is made before 2015.

My remark about the Poll was a joke btw.

Ah, sorry for not making it clear. Nah, I wasn't saying casuals make up the majority, but they make up a big part. As for the parents thing, that kinda fits in with the casuals thing. I group all that stuff into casuals.

I hope it actually makes it out this gen. I hate how SE is taking forever to release games. :( Right now I'm looking at the other Japanese devs for games.

You should stop making statements like that dear.  Their is not really a proof of this.

And if I read your reasons why they would make it on the Wii, I always think why will they not make it on the DS(i)?

Cheaper to make, will probably make more profit, a lot of casuals own it, and it has a userbase that includes FF and KH fans.

If they can do it, more power to them. I don't really care whose making the games as long as they're good games, I'll give my money to anyone.

My Games of 2011:

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Super Mario 3D Land

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

The video gaming industry has been expanding greatly. I hope Disney will deliver some top notch games in the years to come. Preferably on my platforms ^_^

4 ≈ One

So they want the top three publishers to be EA, ActiBlizzion, and DISNEY?!?! No. Wrong on SO many levels.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

1. Yeah they will. It's a cash cow. There's BBS, KH1, KH: CoM, KH: 358/2 Days, KH2, Coded. And we can expect a KH3. That's 7-8 games.

2. lol are you serious? Please tell me you just weren't trying to be dumb with this comment? How many games do they have to make to justify that they, in fact, own the series 100%? Seriously, I'm not arguing over this bull anymore. Disney owns the damn KH IP. Everyone who says otherwise, kindly shut up and get your facts straight.

3. lol won't happen anyway ;)

4. Say what? It's not like they're supporting the HD consoles. PS3 has blu ray and LBP is getting Disney DLC. MS has Disney movies downloadable movies over XBL. If they want to expand they'll go to the bigger userbase. Another dumb statement. They won't skip that chance.

5. No :( SoA is expected to come between October 17-Nov 3 and BK is expected to come between Oct 21-Nov 3.

But how developing the games square :P I'm going to save your comment on a file of word.It would be frikin sweet to see when disney themselves proves you wrong *sigh*.

Well, I know many people who got KH for the Final Fantasy characters. That was the big draw for hardcore gamers.

Soriku, disney bought Black Rock Studios from Sony. They made the ATV Offroad Fury games for PS2 and PSP.

Pure was supposedly a decent game, but it's naught but a poor mans Motorstorm to PS3 owners.

I can actually see this happening.

Disney is one of the few company in the world that has the clout to pull this off.

* Globally recognised IP
* Financial muscle and the ability to attract talented game designers
* Massive fanbase
* Readily availible unique medium of distribution and advertising (I don't see a Sony or MS channel do i?)

Come on guys! They can literally reach out and grab the attention of millions of young children through cross media representation, they can get really big if they plan it right.
