I've had 4 RRoDs... I eventually got a Elite with the newer chipset and haven't had any problems... my old system when dead again, but that was set before they fixed the problem and I don't have it anymore so it's not really my problem.

My Falcon has never RRoDed. However it is only 10 months old. Disc drive is fairly quiet. No weird noises. No problems at all. If it did RRoD, I would simply get another one under warranty. No worries.

BTW, to the OP, this site is no better than anywhere else. EVERYTHING turns into a flame war.

Had it repaired each time as I bought an extended warranty which is also great when you want extra controllers as they don't ask for your old 'broken' one back.

After the forth RROD I sold all the games and HD and now just play live arcade as I really can't be bothered to go through it all a 5th time!

And yes I'll buy the next Xbox providing it has games I'd like to play.

1. 360 RRODed after merely 4 months (first time an electronic device craped out on me this fast).

2. As it was still under warranty I went back to the shop, paid the difference, and got it swaped it with a PS3.

3. will never ever look back to 360 as imo it's a very poorly designed and manufactured hardware. And will prolly not get the next Xbox either.

I have an arcade, no RRoD yet in 2 months.

If anything does happen, my Bestbuy extended warranty should cover it.

I've thoroughly enjoyed this gens and last gens version of the xbox. The games are awesome, and Xbox live is great. I am sure that they will learn from the RRoD debacle that hampered them so far this gen, because it cost them big bucks. These are dollas that they will not get back, and I'm sure that MS is kicking itself for that.

Thing is, where ever the games you want are, that's the system that you'll stick with if your financially able to. That's the way most people see it I think.

I had my 360 since nov 2006. had 2 other problems with the 360 but still no RRoD.

the last problem occured a month before the 1year warranty was up it was the CD drive crapping. They fixed it for free and added the new heatpipe to it. ever since then especially on the weekends when family and friends come over the 360 is on for around 14+ hours saturday and sundays.

I buy another 360 next year if financial situation gets better

and I love the games and the community.
