Yeah the security windows are extremely annoying, and what's dumb is most of them are for stuff that is built into Vista! I mean to be suspicious about your own work is really something Microsoft! And the fact that you cannot turn off the annoying security windows that won't allow you to do anything until you click yes or no, is even more frustrating.

Other than that there isn't much different in Vista from XP, it just looks a little fancier.

Lets see, problems Me, My friends or Parents have had with Vista

Me - Was bought a cheap laptop, 512mb ram, with Vista preinstalled. After startup, but without me opening anything, the first time I turned it on, it was using 90% of the ram. Ouch. Battery Life was sub 2 hours. It wouldn't let me install XP due to compatability issues with Vista :P I eventually installed Xubuntu on there and gained over an hour of battery life.

My Friend - couldn't play Counter Strike, nor Worms Armageddon on his $4000 laptop

My Parents - Many virus's, that I then have to fix. Their computer is less than a year old, good specs and runs very slow.

Either your parents are very techno-non-savvy and can't tell what they are or are not supposed to click or your dad(or mom) is really into porn. Either way they would have got those viruses no matter what OS they were using.

Yes you can, in fact I had to turn off UAC in order to play Mass Effect properly. I never get those pop-ups anymore. If you want to know how to turn it off google it.

No! stop right there. Linux OS's can justify making the assumption that its users are tech savvy, Windows cannot, because it is simply not true.

The truth is, Vista is very insecure, Windows Defender places such restricting limits on other antivirus software as to effectively render them useless

^ I didn't say they didn't know how to use the OS I was saying that they got duped into downloading malware. Even people with a lot of experience with computers can be duped if the malware writer was clever enough.

If what you said was true about it being insecure then I would have had a virus or two by now as well.

Got my quad-core intel rig up and running, and it's working just fine. i think Vista's bad rap was it's lack of backward comp, more than anything else.

Wow you are nothing short of a complete retard not smart. Please point me in the direction of the articles which describe vista as a "very insecure" OS.
