I figured I didn't even need to mention the UK. It's doing terrible. Anytime a multiplatform game releases and the PSP version outsells the Wii version. Somebody messed up.

Well, it could be the rare occasion that the PSP got a great version of a multiplayer game, but more likely EA just didn't do a good enough job on the Wii version.

It's like that all over Europe. In Germany, the PS2 version sold 4 times better than the 360 version. And PS3 was ahead of the PS2 one on the charts... So PS3 Fifa probably sold 5-6 times better.

So casuals are definitely sticking to playstations. 360 is for the hardcore.

No. The casuals are sticking with the Wii by massively insane margins. Look at the Wii titles on the list, and tell me how they aren't "casual". Wii titles stay for ages on the list, whereas X360/PS3 software continues to debut big, and drop pretty quickly, indicating there's a strong core component for both consoles.

I don't know much about FIFA. Don't care too.

 

I just find it odd that the console with the second largest marketshare is second to last in sales.

Konami have revealed PES 2008 numbers in France. It doesn't say if sold to consumers or retailers. They say it beat FIFA on every platform it was released. No number for PSP was given.

France:

PES 2008 through June 2008:

PS2: 700,000
PS3: 313,000 (including 130,000 bundles)
PC-: 130,000
360: 123,000
Wii: 100,000
NDS: 60,000

Total: 1.5m

PES 2007 through June 2007:

Total: 1.3m

PS3 PES 2008 bundle looks like it was a big success last year, I don't think there is one this year though.
