Forums - PC - In the Future BattleNet will Cost Money

@Khuutra

Those must-have-subscription to on-line service to play lan games have been in past circumvented or tricked game to think that you play langame, even though you play with your pals over internet.

Nothing's cheaper than something free.

F1 vs FOTA, when too much power is in couple peoples hands.

What I mean to say is that if people had to make the choice between not playing Starcraft 2 online versus paying for it, many, many, many people will voluntarily choose to pay for it.

Another roadblock to my purchase of Starcraft II. I never would have thought that Blizzard's games could become so unattractive to me. Thanks Activision/Blizzard for the proverbial slap to the nuts.

All this bad news surrounding Blizzard has got to be a joke or something...

What the fuck happened to my favorite PC devs? Do I have Activision to blame here? Unbelievable...

This has gotta be a miscommunication. Maybe something costs money, but the whole service can't cost money. The freeness and the constant updates for decades were what made B-Net the best in the world.

wow thats a kick in the nuts. Battlenet is a lot better than in single player and I'm not gonna pay a monthly fee to play a game i just bought. Hopefully its a one of fee if anything at all.

I'll believe it when i see it. what other games would take advantage of battle.net other then Starcraft 2? Do people still play Warcraft 3 and Starcraft 1 in big numbers?

Yes. God yes. Go log into Bnet on The Frozen Throne sometime, it'll scare you spitless.

My dream of of owning Starcraft 2 is slowly fading away. I dont really want to pay for BN just so I can get slaughtered by guys 1000 times better than me. For free its ok, but I cant pay for that.

I dont mind paying for XBL cause its about $3 a month and gives you loads of things to do, but I cant imaging paying a monthly fee for just one game thats not an MMO.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

In its own way it is a MMO. Clans , rank/lvl, and race are all tracked online and sorted into leaderboards and ladders. with chat rooms and lobbies to boot!
