Forums - Sales - Media Create Sales 7/9 - 7/15

Just like we thought, the Reporting of Media Creates DQ:S numbers are DEAD wrong. They just admitted it was an accident on GPara's site and updated the numbers

Gpara (Media Create) has made a mistake, and now it has been fixed

[before] 01. [WII] Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors (Square-Enix) - 263,000 / 263,000
[n o w] 01. [WII] Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors (Square-Enix) - 305,000 / 305,000

For those wondering, we get the Media Create numbers from a site called Gpara.com. They incorrectly listed the numbers they got from Media Create and have now corrected it.  It was actually 305,000 for week one. Which is alot better. I knew thhat was to big a gap.

At least we don't have to listen to Sony fanboys crying about it for the next week anymore.

Nice.

so just wanted to point out that DQ:S sold more than the best selling PS3 game in one week.

Good idea to point it out right now because it won't be valid in few weeks.

I've edited in the 305,000 total for Dragon Quest Swords in the opening post.

Anyone want to guess on how well the game is going to sell in week 2?  It sold to 10% of Wii owners in week one, so I expect a significant dropoff.  Anywhere from 80,000-120,000 would be my guess..

No, actually it will still be valid that, at the time of release, Dragon Quest Swords did outsell the best selling PS3 game in one week.

You might wanna say it won't mean much, but you know, it still might.

At the time of release? Yes, it will be valid. Ok. I'm going to use ultimate fanboy argument right now - I rate MC over Famitsu. DQ:S (263k) sold almost as many units as best selling PS3 game LTD - Gundam (287k). Not enough though.

I think you missed the updateof the MC numbers that said that they had made a mistake and that it sold 305k, so sorryit passed. I actualy think that when Hot Shot Golf is released DQS will still have sold more because even if I excpect a huge drop I belive that it will have sold more, but well we will see what happens.
