Impressive numbers for both DQ:S and Wii but I'm afraid it's not what John Lucas expected (PSSST! *whispers* Dragon Quest Swords *whispers*). Nice to see little boost in PS3 sales and steady PSP's numbers.

Impressive sales for both DQ:S and the Wii. Phantom Hourglass continues to sell well. It has bucked the trend of decline Zelda game sales. Nothing like large userbase to assist a title in having big sales. I can't begin to comprehend what DQIX will do to DS sales.

I'm trying to make this post with as little flaming as possible, but isn't it funny that DQS outsold the highest selling PS3 game's total (Gundam Musou -- 283,068), in it's first week
hm seems like all sales are high this week, it must be because monday was a national holiday
currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X
I think I can explain the small rise in ps3 sales. Its obvious isnt it, Some silly ppl rushed out to buy a ps3 hoping to play DQS. There'll be a small rise in the number of ps3 on ebay after these ppl realised there mistake. :p

PS2 saw a couple K increase with no new game, PS2k at 17k is an increase with no games, 360 even boosted to 3600 with just GRAW which is obviously not the reason for the increase. It must be because of the holiday that there is a slight increase in sales
currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

The figure of DQS is great because shipments are 350~400k and typhoon hit at last weekend.
Indeed, It became sold-out in some major retailer.

Got DQS this morning... first impression kind of okay, controls with walking is kind of blur, you'll need to use the key pad to go in directions, it would have been better with the nuchuck attached to it, but no. The sound is amazing, familiar DQ tunes, but the graphics I'm not highly impressed about, ey, did you she really say that? The game is not even in progressive scan. Nice voice actings, real DQVIII atmosphere... further I can't say much about it yet... But got the feeling it's one of the less adventures slash RPG games on the WII which might enjoy the fans a bit.. because to be honest... what else is out there on the WII? Right... nothing much... and seeing the Famitsu scores of Dewy's Adventure 7,8,8,8, and giving a Mario Party even 7,8,7,7, while this game is totally being destroyed by critics in the West, I have my doubts about the goodness of the game :(
Therefore DQS could perhaps have some long legs in Japan.
