He works as a translator, A TRANSLATOR.

Which means that:
1_ Translate an already released game. (Rythem Heaven, ASH, Fire Emblem, Soma bringer, Captain rainbow, Disaster...Etc)
2_ Translate an announced game to be released in the very near future. (Wii Music, Animal Crossing SF, Punch-Out!!, *insert a nintendo game announced at their fall conference*)

This probably isn't that big a deal.

I hate seeing things like this, because the logical part of my brain says, "Don't get excited, you don't know enough, you don't want to be emotionally crippled by Shigeru Miyamoto" but the wonderful part of my brain says, "Shigeru Miyamoto newly confirmed character in the just announced Super Smash Bros. 4"

with the inteview, i had a gossip girl moment,,

"LIKE really, she SAID THAT?! and she is dating who?!, like whatever"

Yeah, but there's one major difference between Mother 3 and the new Zelda - We know Mother 3 is a completed game and has been for some time. With Mother 3 it's like, "Hey I'm done translating." "Alright then, let's release it". Because that's literally the ONLY THING they have to do.

With Zelda? There's no telling. They could be starting all different fronts at the same time. "Hey, I'm done translating those dialogue scripts you gave me." "Oh, cool, but we still have lots of other stuff not done in the project."

How are you not seeing this? I'm not saying it's definitely Zelda, either, I'm just saying it's virtually impossible for it to be Mother 3. And I don't see how Mother 3 getting localized relates to this thread, because as I said before, it wouldn't take this long to translate. There's just no way. Mother 3 might get released, it's a fair possibility. But even if it does, it won't have anything to do with what this guy is translating.

Sounds to me like something other than translation.

1. If he works in the translation section, he would expect to do translation. This is something completely unexpected. Being assigned to the translation of Mother 3 or a Zelda game on one's first day would certainly rank as being thrown in the "deep end" ... but completely unexpected?
2. If it were a translation, he would have said, "So I started translating ... something.", instead of "So I started doing ... something."

*shrug* This is something we may never have a clear answer to.

Oh, I'm seeing it. I just think it's reaching, really reaching. How often do you see stuff like this pop up, and then someone immediately assumes "yeah, it's gotta be zelda surely", and then have not be the case at all? Or something along those lines. I can think of a good few other things that it could be with a more likely-hood of being true than zelda. I just think it's too early in the stage for it.

So what exactly is your stance, "this guy is definately not translating Mother 3. Impossible. But he could (and probably is)  working on the new Zelda"?
