This is kind of depressing. The N64 was the best console ever. Oh well.. if any home console deserves to outsell it it's the Wii.

Actually, at the current rate of sales, if it continues at this average sales rate and doesn't speed up or slow down, it will pass PS2 in approximately 260 weeks.

Or five years, precisely, from this week's sales numbers.

Given that we're just shy of a holiday season, during which sales will increase dramatically, that average is a bit skewed from the past six months of relative inactivity. Also given that they're upping the production rate, that sales rate will likely end up increasing, and it will probably pass the PS2 close to when the next Ninty system releases.
