I will start by saying that Fable 2 I believe is the most advanced next gen game by a long way. Why? It's all well using the extra CPU power for better graphics. But Lionhead have used alot of the extra power for having a (and I believe for the first time properly) fully fledged game world. STOP you say. Unh unh. Absolutely every other game does not even come close to the intricasies of Fable 2. I had no idea it was this good. Finally a game that not only uses the extra power for graphics but also for keeping a tab on everything in a living breathing world. No doubt for me now that this game is game of the generation. Dont understand?

Watch this and listen to every single word they tell you. The hype perhaps wasnt enough.

Pretty much everything he said was said about the first Fable also. Nothing against the game, but I only beleave things about Lionhead games that I personally experience. Black and White 1 & 2, The Movies, Fable... They all hyped me up on what consisted of lies, for all intents and purposes.

Most of what was said about Fable 1 was before the thing was finished.  The items listed here are actually in the game.  Fable 1 fell far short of the vision that Peter had for it, due to overestimating what the Xbox could handle.  They're being a lot more cautious and only talking about what actually was made this time.

Hmm i'd rather play the final thing to make my mind up about the game and as for "most advance next gen gameplay" ....LOL.

So what game would you say has this much detail? Gears 2? KZ2? Oblivion? MGS4? None of them come close. It's one thing having awesome graphics. It's another to be able to have a chain of properties for instance and be a landlord. Own shops, set the prices. Sort out the stock levels. Decorate your home. Affect the economy. Become a conniseur or ladies man. For instance Oblivion promised so much, but falls so short in comparison to Fable 2. Yeah in Gears 2, the graphics are awesome, but as usual you pick up a gun and fire it. In terms of next gen gameplay Fable 2 has done leaps and bounds. Thats my point. Finally it's not just ooohhh look at the ai there it ran for cover pretty good. Look at the texture there. Those things can get old quick.

Couldn't you do all those things in Fable 1......on the original Xbox?

I know Fable 2 will be great, but don't say it's the true next gen experience when you could essentially do the same thing in the previous iteration

Actually, the majority of the bolded activities were not possible in the original Fable.

Not possible....or simply not implemented? I know if you could have decorated homes, became a "ladies man" or effectively turn evil or be Jesus as directed by every move you make IN FABLE 1, then I'm sure that once again, Fable 2 will not be the "true next gen experience" since you could do essentially the same things last gen

Probably not possible due to money/schedule/hardware constraints.  The developer went into the project with very high hopes (and spewing a lot of hype about what they were going to build).  The reality of what was possible given the constraints was sadly a lot less.

Some devs on the other hand keep their titles in perpetual development, hoping one day to find the right incantations to make the stuff they promised appear.  I won't mention any names.

ermmm its sounds like another Sim Life game to me.. hmm is that so impressive? i'll wait til the game is released

Yeah, I'm really excited about Fable 2, and I'm not a doubter. I loved Fable 1. So I won't watch it, because I want to avoid any spoilers, gameplay or otherwise.

You should also know, any mention of 360 exclusives on this forum is flamebait. Whatever game it is, will get flamed, via page 6 in the Sony fanbook for dealing with the marginalization and anti-marketing of non-Sony exclusives.

If LBP were suddenly a 360 exclusive tomorrow, according to page 6, it would look childish and become a casual title.

That's right, since my computer was down, I got a copy off Ebay. I know all your fanbook secrets now!

NO NO, NO NO NO.

i don't see why you have to bring LBP in this topic if it is about Fable. unless you trying to talk trash about it since they both are coming out the same day.

"Na ahh"

...

"But you haven't given a good reason for why Sony fanboys wouldn't think like that..."

"NA AHH!"

You're probably right, but deep down, most of them would be feeling jealous. And trust me, if there were two games for the 360 I would want ported to the PS3, it would be Fable II and Gears of War 2.

But since you wont watch the video, there isn't much point in discussing this particular case. But even though giving you my opinion of it, is going to have the same effect as letting salty tears drop into the Dead Sea, I will give it anyway.

This particular part of Fable II seems like The Sims. On steoroids. In a fantasy setting. With an M-rating.

All of these are redeeming qualities, but none of them enough to overshadow that feeling of Peter Molyneux being very enthusiastic about The Sims.

Well, could it be that maybe, the person just doesn't like Fable 2? I'm not interested in Fable 2 and is not cuz its a Xbox 360 exclusive, so does that mean that I have a "handbook" handy when talking about an xbox 360 exclusive? no. I just don't like WRPGs like I've mentioned. I didn't like Oblivion and that came out for the PS3. I am interested in ToV, Gears franchise, and Left 4 Dead to name a few and those are all 360 exclusives. Shocking, that I like those games w/o having a 360....well, granted I don't consider myself a fanboy, so ur topic may not have been referencing me, if not, then move along, nothing to see.

This game looks as if it is going to move quite a few bars higher...

There are exceptions, but from what I've seen in every topic, it's always known Sony fanboys who hate on Xbox 360 exclusives and vice versa, and there is nothing different about this topic. Don't make me the bad guy because I point out the obvious to others. It's silly to tip toe around the fact that someone with a MGS4 sig and a LBP avatar is only pretending to act like an Xbox 360 exclusive sucks. You should know this, even if you are an exception, you shouldn't get upset that people confuse you with the tide of others who aren't. It's like telling me, "Just because I'm wearing a policemen's outfit, you think I'm a cop!? I'm offended(not that I even was referring to you or mentioned your name, or even read your post)."

Anyway, yeah, most people are just 360 exclusive haters, that want to marginalize this game. Is that a lie? Did I just make that up? Please, set me straight.

Also, anyone who thinks my last post was a flame at LBP or that it was in any way flaming the game and not the fanboys surrounding it, needs to learn to read.

Sorry for my tone. It's fine if you guys disagree with me. What's not fine is if I catch you with your hand in the cookie jar, and you act like I'm the criminal. Getting all defensive. Stand up for your actions and biases, that's part of being a legitimate poster.
