Million said: if you want the sims you go buy the sims , if you want an RPG go buy an RPG . I don't care about setting up a fire if it's gonna snow or getting a girlfirend and children in a game , I'd play the sims if I wanted that.
What I what is a good storyline , excellent gameplay and great graphics none of that "real life simulation" stuff apeals to me , i'd play an MMORPG for that.
Meh i can't be bothered i'm out. |
Let me ask you this,Why do people play God of war? Gears of war? Call of duty 4? Halo 3? Resistance fall of man?
So they can feel "leet" for that few seconds,Thats what most games do make you feel "leet" and then its over, short term happiness,Fable 2 is trying to change that with so much more to do,after you play for 20+ hours and you got some good swords, clothes you can look at someone else and say "i have this and they dont"that you cannot do in most shooting games, and RPG = Role playing game thats most games these days,Role as in playing someone in a game.

I fail to see your point here.
Either I can feel "leet" by being better than the enemies at fighting or I can feel "leet" by having a better sword and fancier clothes than Non-Player-Characters/enemies. It's the exact same feeling. And I can get it in many RPG's, by different methods.
I highly doubt that Fable will take Role-Playing Games to a new level. The reason I doubt this is Lionheads impressive track-record. Black and White. Black and white 2. Fable. Each was supposed to be completely revolutionary. Each was supposed to be incredibly complex. And maybe they were incredibly complex and revolutionary, but that didn't really effect how fun they were to play. And most of the time you didn't even notice that they were, because the gameplay didn't really require all that complexity and you could play just as fine or even better if you simply ignored it.
I enjoyed Fable. It was a pretty game with a battle system that was fun. To me it was the best when you got to chop up monsters with a huge sword, fry them with lightning and shoot their heads off with a bow. If Fable 2 did these things, only better and prettier, it would be a good game. If it manages to tell an engaging interactive story at the same time, it will be a great game. I am just scared that Lionhead will mess things up with all these details that tend to clutter down their games and make them fun but not great. And if they are going to FORCE me to run around and play merchant when all I want to do is chop monsters, then it's going to be a BAD game. For me at least.
