I fail to see your point here. Either I can feel "leet" by being better than the enemies at fighting or I can feel "leet" by having a better sword and fancier clothes than Non-Player-Characters/enemies. It's the exact same feeling. And I can get it in many RPG's, by different methods. I highly doubt that Fable will take Role-Playing Games to a new level. The reason I doubt this is Lionheads impressive track-record. Black and White. Black and white 2. Fable. Each was supposed to be completely revolutionary. Each was supposed to be incredibly complex. And maybe they were incredibly complex and revolutionary, but that didn't really effect how fun they were to play. And most of the time you didn't even notice that they were, because the gameplay didn't really require all that complexity and you could play just as fine or even better if you simply ignored it. I enjoyed Fable. It was a pretty game with a battle system that was fun. To me it was the best when you got to chop up monsters with a huge sword, fry them with lightning and shoot their heads off with a bow. If Fable 2 did these things, only better and prettier, it would be a good game. If it manages to tell an engaging interactive story at the same time, it will be a great game. I am just scared that Lionhead will mess things up with all these details that tend to clutter down their games and make them fun but not great. And if they are going to FORCE me to run around and play merchant when all I want to do is chop monsters, then it's going to be a BAD game. For me at least.

That's exactly what makes Fable 2 such an interesting game. You can play just to battle and play through the story, but if you get bored just killing monsters and going on quests you can switch it up. Say you just went on a quest and leveled up a ton. You can go into a nice safe town, kill all of the guards then leave and go do other shit. When you come back, the city will probably have a crime problem and be run down. Plus with co-op your friends can come into your world and see how badly you f***ed it up or improved it. The world has so many options that making it suit your tastes becomes a second game.
