if the sales for 360 continue like this, we're destined to see a pricecut on ps3 imo.

i hope so.   Many of my friends want to buy one but can't afford to.

It`s expensive because you swallow a blueray player and you don`t need one. That`s the price Sony pais for winning a format war and a sweet revenge for those stuck with hd dvd. Now Sony comes in and said "30% more ps3 sold that expected...we are doing great..." in the last place meaning. And let`s not forget about the "paying for potential" statement and "no price cut in 2008". Clearly Sony is living in ps2 era where they are dominant and forgetting that a cheap machine, developer friendly, with a great library of games is outselling them WW.

Okay......... The main reason I wanted the Ps3 was the blueray player.  Kinda goes hand-in-hand with the 1080p HDTV.

For that matter of "need", I really don't NEED any console...but I enjoy it. As I do the Ps3.

Just when people assumed that PS3 > 360 (WW), and it was a matter of time before PS3 overtakes the 360... the 360 bites back - and hard. Outselling the PS3 in *every* territory, and a 60k lead for a single week is quite a lot.

This Xmas is really important for the PS3, because this time it has to stand on its own software legs (NO PRICE CUT!) - and has real competition from the 360.

This is why, in many ways LBP is now one of the most important titles this generation. We know it will get good scores, we know it will "sell well" - but will it become the smash hit Sony desperately needs this Xmas for the PS3 (and sell hardware?).

(its also telling that the Wii is still significantly > 360, even with the lower price point, new software... although at this stage, 50% marketshare just will NOT happen this year)

300k aint a bad number for wii, but i still think Nintendo are stockpiling for the holidays. This will be huuuge for the Wii, could be as big as DS's last year if they play their cards right.

360 get a gr8 week, but can it last till after the holidays? can it last for a month?!

PS3 had their worst week this year, and at the wrong time. But we'll see how some games might push the console back up. Still will be hard though, even with LBP(which i dont think will have that big an impact saleswise)

Wow Wii outsold Ds, 360 still doing good, ps3 could do better.

LBP will be the new IP Sony is hoping will gain the mainstream appeal that other new IP this gen has (current leaders are Wii Sports/Play and Gears).

And yes I agree this Xmas is very important for PS3 because its PS2's last Xmas. I wouldnt be surprised if the normal EA/Activision annual games are no longer on the PS2 next year. I think this Xmas, a much bigger audience will be making a decision on which current gen console to get.

Good 360 numbers for the USA but i'm still not very impressed by 360 considering the $200 price-points. would've have been wuite good numbers for the $250 price points. PS3 has a lot of sales being stolen and no I do not believe in that sold-out BS. Its just like the same excuse MS made at the beginning of the year. The Wii and DS are just bringing in the money for Ninty.

End of '08 predictions (made by theprof00): PS3: 20m, 360: 23.5m, wii: 42m

Now Playin':  PS3|Resistance 2, LBP, Uncharted and Fifa 09, PSP| Ratchet and Clank: Size matters, 360| Gears of war 2 and Fallout 3.

I'm surprised the DS numbers only went up 9k over last week. These numbers should include the first day sales from the $99 DS deal that wal-mart had, and most stores do price match. I guess next weeks DS numbers should be massive, each wal-mart store carries large amounts of DS units and based on what i saw the stores were sold out.

I think Sony is dead this gen.

Looking at the predictions in your sig, well.......i think you need to put a bit more thought into the things you say
