Forums - Gaming - Rumor: EA on the prowl, looking to buy Epic Games

I'm pretty sure that Microsoft own the rights to Gears of War, so would they create another studio to handle the franchise?

Epic owns the Gears of War IP.  Microsoft just signed a contract to publish the first to titles in the Gears of War franchise.

gears of war on ps3 confirmed

I hope not although Game Guru's track record to date hasn't been all that great.

"acquisition of a company who's engine"

Where did these clowns go to school at?

I know.  What are they going to do for an encore, end their sentences with prepositions?

You caught the (perceived) mistake. You did not, however, catch the irony I intended to accompany it.

You're not Rol.

I am not sure what Rol is, but I am definitely not Rol.

Why would Epic accept? They make so much money a year on just liscensing their engine.

For that matter why would EA do this? If they kept Epic's engine to themselves they'd have to pay way more for the company then it's worth.

Didnt EA try this before when they bought out the Quake engine, and thats when epics unreal engine took off. All thre other publishers didnt want to lease there engine from EA? Its a bad idea for me for Epic to team up with EA. EA puts out shoddy work in my opinion

PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.

Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game

Not that I want this to happen, but if it does, they should have them make a Wii game, just to piss off Mark Rein.

Yeah, it is a good point that they have no reason to accept

Is the UE 3 the most widely used engine?
