Forums - Nintendo - Official Dead Rising trailer.

Not the demo vid, but the near finished build of the game.

Debut trailer of Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop

Now it's not as vibrant as the 360 version, but it's not muddy anymore. And the 360 had three cores to handle all the zombie AI, while the Wii as at best one core with a few minor processing units, so handling as many zombies would be too much to ask for.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Damn, you had me excited there. But this is an old video.

Still circle shadows. Still rather muddy, and still not too many enemies on screen.

They shouldn't have shown the 360 version then this one, it doesn't look at good.

The older videos show different things.

And dj is just stretching to knock this. Muddy and dim are not the same thing. Circular shadows is just anal. They already said there wouldn't be that many zombies on screen. Were you paying attention then?

And "doesn't look as good" is something we already knew. So again you are stretching.

Maybe I'm not the one stretching, maybe you're making excuses for the game.

For it not to be many zombies on screen, still having circle shadows sucks majorly. For it not to have many zombies on screen, the graphics looking muddy sucks majorly.

It doesn't look good. Period.

That being said, it does look like they did improve from the earlier builds.  ^_^

A lot fewer zombies, you say? That pretty much destroys the whole purpose of Al Fresca Plaza. Not that I ever liked it anyways...

Yeah, Al Fresca Plaza was bombarded with Zombies before.

With this many Zombies on screen, walking through that will be a breeze.

It looks better but anytime he's in the mall common area you can just look around him and see...nothing. I didn't get far in Dead Rising on the 360 but I remember never having that problem.

Excusing? I pointed out the game wouldn't look as good, or have as many zombies, in the OP.

You brought those up as though I didn't mention those at all, and added a point that has no bearing on the gameplay or art direction. That is stretching.

And you're now assuming the difficulty without actually playing it. It could be easier, but you don't actually know it will be. That is stretching as well.

Unless there is some new bounce in the zombie's steps, this is going to be a cakewalk. Maybe they should just make it one hit kills for Frank so it's still difficult, otherwise I just don't see how it's going to be challenging carting survivors around a group of a dozen zombies. Having this few zombies on the screen really kills the purpose and appeal of this game. Capcom doesn't seem to understand their own IP. People were not clamoring for RE4 style gun controls, especially considering how often you use melee weapons and not guns in combat. They just want a crapload of zombies to have to avoid or kill. Overall this project seems like it's as misplaced on the Wii as Boom Blox would be on the 360.
