Forums - Nintendo - Reggie gets asked about Fatal frame and Disaster NA release

Disaster will come over here whether it does well in Europe or not.

I wonder if Fatal Frame is caught up in the Tecmo-Koei merger.

As for Disaster, the topic may be too hot for to bring to the US (even though I know more of those type of things tend to happen in Europe).

In both cases, I wonder if NOA is worried about low sales.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

Why reggie why?

Disaster just seems to have been a development meltdown that they are talking about it like this. Sounds like Ninty just wants to be done with this title. I wonder what happened with development for them to want to get this game off of them so badly.

There's no reason Disaster shouldn't come to NA. It fits the NA audience and there isn't anything additional they'd have to do for a release.

As for Fatal Frame, I'll get the Homebrew Channel and just import it along with Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. And if I really have to, I'll import Disaster too.

Or there really is for D:DoC.  My thoughts is some disaster with the development of the game where they spent 2 or 3x as much money as they were supposed to.  Thus Nintendo put them on a timeframe and said have it ready by such and such because we are cutting off funds.  Still looks pretty polished considering.  Thus they are doing an under the belt release for Japan and Europe because they don't want to spend money on marketing.  They've lost enough money on it and just want to see what they can recover.  Thus an American release will only happen if the title does well elsewhere to see if they can get some profit out of it.  Which is why I would love to know what happened in development to have such a meltdown like this.

As for FF4 it'll probably come along but as someone said probably delayed a little due to the Tecom/KOEI merger.

Fatal Frame I might be interested, but Disaster is a must for me.

How much does it cost to release a game in a region? I didn't think it was too expensive. Even if it sells less than 100k copies, that couldn't be more than the cost to bring it over. I can see marketing driving costs up, but I think the crowd it appeals to would find out about it with a minimal amount of advertising.

I need Homebrew for Tatsunoko anyways, so I'm not too upset about this. It would be nice not to have to go through the hassle though.

wow, disaster better come here, i was really waiting for that game.
