wow a whole 33% of american gamers are female, so i should meet one eventualy, not just men pretending, or do all the chicks just play wow (im kidding, ive played a few on RSV2 )

XBL name: Goddog

One time I played StarCraft with a drunk Canadian girl.

I'm assuming the bulk of that is moms buying games for their sons.. /sarcasm

Pixel Art can be fun.

I'm not really surprised. The article mentioned 38% are women all ages.

Nintendo said on E3 that 49% of the DS systems and were played by women.

What I find maybe most surprising here, is that 10% of the American gaming revenue is from women either under 18, or above 45.

"ranking second to males ages 18 to 45, who made up 37 percent."

So from this, 2/3 gamers in Americas are 18-45 years old. That's a bit surprising.

"Females accounted for 21 percent of the industry's total sales growth last year, according to Anita Frazier, a video game industry analyst from the research firm NPD Group."

Wouldn't this mean that men accounted for 79%? If so, the female actually lost market share (or whatever).

So would this be moms buying games for their kids?

It's not that surprising.

My friends mom wants a Wii for Christmas so that they both can play it.
