OK here's what I said in the other thread:

It seems this will be the last week for 360 to surpass ps3 in japan, that if nothing new happens.
anway, come on sony release the psp3000 and the next big ps3 game in japan already ( that's WKC right?)

I also expect it to be the last week 360 beats PS3. M$ seriously need another shipment in there. STOP those shortages. The demand I believe is there to regularly get near 20,000 at the mo for 360. Just a shame lots of shops dont have any. Come on M$ dont lose this oppurtunity. Get it packed over there.

i think next week ps3 is getting even lower, and xbox 360 will > 12K, waiting smbu from other thread to get latest info about japan shortage, hopefully at least no shortage again in smbu area

By now there is a lot of second hand games avaiable, so some of them are just getting used games.

Other a just getting a second 360 for the bedroom or as a Media extender.

And then again are satifyed with just buying Arcade games online.

I work in Akihabara (in Japan) and there are no Xbox360 shortages here at the Yodabashi Store (biggest electronics store in Japan). They have stock of all models and more available on their website.

Apart from that congrats again to Xbox360. M$ are doing some great advertising in Japan. Most advertising is about 3 JRPGs, Last Rem, IU and Tales. Good to see Sony finally getting competition. Hopefully this will wake them up a bit. Though i doubt Sony will do anything yet. Oct is big for Sony so have to wait and see what happens.

Just added the PS2 sales, it had a very impressive 11,445 in Japan for a almost 9 year old gaming console.

Still keepin up with the big boys!

Yes it's intresting that the Japenese now prefer the Xbox 360 and the PS2 rather than the PS3. Maybe it is because they know that the new Xbox 360 175w Falcon is everything the old 360 Zephur should of been and they like it...

360 now outselling the PS3 in ALL regions especially EUROPE/OTHERS.

@ SPANKY, you are sounding a bit desperate with that comment, what is going on in Europe/Others do you think ?

Just out of curiosity, are people still selling those 360's back once they are done with whatever game they were interested on or has the turnover rate gone down?

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

It's amazing what Vesperia has done for the 360 in Japan. Only Blue Dragon caused such increased demand if I recall correctly.

Don't you mean Infinite Undiscovery ?

Vesperia + Infinite Undiscovery

And don't forget Last Remnant is comming.

What i want to know is why there are no 360 in top 50. What games are the people buying when they get a xbox? I mean wouldnt that make sence to have a game in the top 50 if you are selling at least 10k?

pricecut+cheaper than the wii.

and piracy.

OK folks, Tinfoil Hat time.

We know that traditionally, the Japanese have been very pro Japanese companies, and don't really like MS that much.

We also can assume that at least on some consoles, MS is probably losing money per console due to the price cut, hoping to regain and grow profits from software and Live in that region. Further, there are no 360 games in the Japan top 50 at the moment.

Now, (and heres the conspiracy theory) could it be possible that the Japanese are trying to sink MS in Japan by buying consoles (losing MS money) and then by not buying software to further hurt MS?

/conspiracy theory

*looks at software ratio*

.... highly unlikely

Its getting sad now. No decent software for the PSP or PS3. The PS2 gets it all

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

LOL not sure about that. Yodabashi dont sell used products. I have checked a local game store near my house in Urawa that sells new and used games and consoles and havent noticed any used ones yet.

EDIT: My bad posted the wrong link. Here http://list4.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/2084235549-category-leaf.html shows new and used Xbox360s for sale. Yahoo Auctions Japan is a very popular palce for the Japanese to sell new and used goods at great deals so a lot of Japanese shop here before shopping at stores.
