Remember, MGS 4 was number 1 on forums for 3 straight years and it barely scratches the surface of games like Mario Kart Wii, Halo 3, Gears of war, SSBB, COD 4, GTA 4, Assassins Creed, etc. Forums mean nothing. I mean MGS 4 was supposed to "save the PS3 from extinction". It did NOT have steller sales and the fact that its out of the top 100 sales already is really sad and Halo 3 is still in the top 50 after over a year!

Your definition of "barely scratches the surface of" is quite liberal if you include Assassin's Creed in that list.

HEADSHOT, Seriously, in your list, u put Assassin Creed and not MGS4 ??? Not everybody will agree ...

Well Assassins Creed wasnt hyped at every single E3 and TGS with 20 min cut scenes at every game show since 2005 or have huge discussion boards going on. Thats my main point about sales. Also forums for games like Madden, Guitar Hero, Rockband, Wii music, and Wii play are not cluttered at all and yet, they are amongst the best selling games. Thats my point about the unscientific proof of discussion boards.

Yeah also alot of game sites has crashed due to the give away beta keys so no doubt that it is popular, i cant wait for it to release just to see how it does.

assasin creed WAS hyped more than mgs4.

also released in 2 platform.

35 millions vs 15 milllion it had to sell better.

now if you compare sales in the same platform.
