You can save money on oil for the winter with your PS3, just turn it on when it's cold and it'll warm up the whole house
(this is why its future proof!)
My ps3 broke a while ago as well. It was a 60gb NA ps3. Mine ended its life with a flashing red light and failed to turn on after then. As you can imagine, my warranty was out as well so I had to pay sony $150. Here comes the shocker: they actually sent me a brand new NA 60gb as a replacement! It looks like they still have some of these left so you're almost better off having your ps3 break now if it's going to break
One word of caution: back up your save files and data now. I can't stress this enough! I failed to do this and ended up losing all my saves and having my SC4 disk away for 16 days! If they are unable to fix your system, you'll never retrieve those saves!
"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)
"WAR is a racket. It always has been.
It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler
| Epoch said: Sounds like fan is working overly hard because of the ambient temp of your house. Has it always been this loud ?? could be faulty bearings in the fan, or you just havent cleaned the thing since you got it, and leaving it on the floor is probably not helping either, it will suck up alot of dust down there. Try unplugging it completely and vacuuming all the exhaust ports. Try and do a thorough job as it is probably pretty dusty. My laptop used to overheat (ran at about 60 C) I vacuumed the heat-syncs and it now runs at about 40 C. Big improvement. Good luck! |
umm...this might sound dumb, but how do I do that? I don't have a vacuum cleaner ;). Thx for all the help guys, I really don't want to call Toys R Us because Im sure that they will give me a non BC PS3, and 2 of the most played games in my house is Marvel Vs Capcom 2 and Street Fighter Anniversery Collection (SF3 FTW!!).
LOL I was thinking about the winter thing, it'll keep me nice and toasy while I run through Chimeras in R2 :).
My PS3 is usually completely silent but occasionally the fan seems to get incredibly loud. This only happens during Battlefield: Bad Company, for some odd reason, and since I finished it, I don't play it any more. Sure enough the PS3 stopped complaining.
Do you happen to have Bad Company in there?

LOL, nah I don't own that game. It also happens to any and all games eventually (if I play for too long and it gets hot)
