I think Fable will probably sell more. I'm going by the fact that I'm a 360 ower, and I'm staunchly anticipating Fable, and my brother is a PS3 owner and he'd never heard of LBP, and when I told him about it, he wasn't entheused.

I see Fable 2 as selling more first and also having longer legs. Discussion boards dont translate well into sales. MGS 4 was hyped on the internet for over 3 years of sensationalism and even with it being bundled, it hasnt sold even 4 million in 4 months. You would have thought it was gonna sell 20 million by now! LBP will not outsell MGS 4, so lifetime sales will sit at around 2 million. Thats reality. Fable 2 will sell around 4 million

Basically this is what I'm seeing:
360 owners say: Fable II will outsell LBP
PS3 owners say: LBP will outsell Fable II

My prediction:

First week: Fable II: 750, 000 LBP: 250, 000
LTD: Fable II: 2.75 million LBP: 1.5 million

LOL at this majorly. This site is predominantly PS3 owners. Be real here. Beating Fable 2 is one thing.

Beating Gears of War 2 is another. LOL. I will be very surprised if LBP gets within 5 million LT sales of Gears of War 2.

LBP looks good. But seriously it will not take kids away from there wii. And I agree with others that I expect it to sell to maybe 1 million of the current userbase. It also will not have an impact on sales of the PS3. It's to late to change the hardcore image that the PS3 has. People are looking through rose tinted goggles and not actual userbase. The internet to those shouting about forums and such probably account for less than 200,000 PS3 users who want it. They are just making lots of noise.

Another question for PS3 fanboys:

Who do you think will be the userbase that LBP will apeal to? The Casuals? Well they'll see the wii for $250 and say F*** it and lets just get the Wii. The people that own the PS3 but dont go on forums? Well 90% of them don't even know about LBP. The people that go on forums? They hardly make up the Ps3 userbase.

You're making a decent number of assumptions here.  First off, even if your 90% figure that you so obviously pulled from whence the sun don't shine is true, that's assuming that there will never be any advertisement for the game.  Second, the idea is that the game appeals to both casuals and hardcore.  Casuals can play games on the disc as well as online, and hardcore can try their hand at creating their own level.

You see it as fanboyism. I see it as extremely realistic. The points I raise are valid. Wii will definately be chosen over LBP. And I think I'm pretty accurate on the PS3 userbase.
