Forums - Nintendo - GC Virtual Console

When the next Wii arrives (2011-2013 imo) I'm guessing Nintendo will be spoiled for choice with storage (HDD will dirt cheap, flash memory cheap, etc), majority of people should have faster internet and this got me thinking. Could we see GameCube games on the virtual console? They were (for most games) just 1.5GB so it should be feasible technically at least. Would anyone be interested in GC games? Would Nintendo want do it? Would it be sucessful? What do you guys think?

Actually.. when they have a storage solution for the Wii, I'm expecting to see GC games.. not next gen.. but still this gen.. say for $20.. it shouldn't be a problem since the wii can play GC games..

Never going to happen, as it makes no sense. Why would you download GameCube games for $20 when you can play them already on your Wii for much cheaper?

i think Nintendo would just release them in packages, only the bigger games anyway. for a cheap price, and with a wii label on it instead. or something like that.

So maybe cheaper.. $15.. but some GC games are hard to find.. but maybe you should ask the question to the ones who are buying the xbox originals for the 360..

I can see that happening, although at the moment I'm more concerned with whether we'll be able to transfer our current digital library to the next console.
