Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo's Wii is winning battle of the game builders

Let's see what kind of games come out before we start celebrating, deal?

Also, I never made the claim there are more 3rd party 360/PS3 games coming on Wii just better ones.

I listed newly announced PS3/360 games in the last two months because someone else had claimed there was like 5 new games or so since April announced while the number was close to 25 in the last two months.

Wanna get into this debate again?

I so called this, Didn't I?

Oh well, I guess its only inevitable that ckmlb shows up to rain on a pro-Nintendo thread. Either way he's going to find some way to turn it into a Wii lineup vs PS3 lineup discussion.

Wii games have a faster turn around time, since dev's already have experience with developing games for the gamecube. Once they get used the wiimote figured out, its a piece of cake.
In turn a Wii game does not have to sell 1 million to churn a profit, apparently 300,000 copies sold are enough to churn a profit.
And considering Wii games still cost only 50$, it speaks volumes.

Heeeeyyyy!!!! <Snap>

I'm 98% sure nintendo is going to win this generation (Wii and DS), and i'm hoping for the sake of the industry that it does. If Nintendo wins then next-gen will more than likely be an awesome blend of wii-ps3 and that will benifit us so much. Also, this would mean that the 3rd parties would start making great games of potential AAA status. Look at the DS with the news of its game ASH (which has potential to be awesome), and Brothers in Arms DS showed how FPS's can work on handhelds leaving room for more of the "hardcore" games. Also we all know about the Medal of Honor Heroes 2 with 32 player online for Wii (and PSP). The issues people have with "hardcore vs casual vs traditional games" will soon be gone i'm sure.

The fact is, whether Nintendo wins or not they are going in the right direction by expanding the market and making what may be the best 1st party games of all time.

Sigh...

Like I tell some of my friends who think the Wii's current game selection is a bit sparse...

Other console owners keep telling us, wait til March, or wait til June!

I'll tell you honestly, for the Wii, wait til late 2008. Around then, the big, expensive, epic games will either be out in or close to the end of development. Nobody thought the Wii would do so well until late last year...and only now are developers getting onboard...it's not easy to switch from PS3/360 to Wii, but resources are moving, to be sure, to allow all 3 consoles to get epic games.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Everyone wins if better 3rd party games come out for all 3 consoles, especially owners of all 3 consoles (including me).

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

I'm looking forward to potential future titles, the Wii's potential can go either way, kind of exciting. How come time only flies by in hindsight.

i forsee the next gen of consoles that are going to be coming next as more of a xbox360 w/ motion controls than a blend of ps3 and wii

HD output(1080p or 720p don't matter which imo)
hard drive- ~120gig in size.
motion Control potential- either a wii type or 6 axxis...most likely wii type.

at a REASONABLE PRICE.

The Masses HAVE spoken- atleast SO FAR- and 299 seems to be the highest amount that the Masses will pay for a Console...

As for Games and DEvs.. IF the wii continues with it's current rate of sales thru to next fiscal year, MOST devs will have an "AAA" Wii project going for late 2008 release
