Forums - Nintendo - OCTOBER 2nd!!! Nintendo event predictions

Alright folks, serious business time now. 5 Days to go with the hype building by the hour, let's get in some predictions for Nintendo's October Event.

But before we begin, let's take a moment to absorb what went down this time last year:

Now, let's get this thing started...

All things considered from this time last year to everything that's gone on up to this point, what are you expecting from Nintendo (and third parties)? What announced games are you expecting to be there, and do you expect any new announcements? Games, services, peripherals... Jot them down here.

I'll try and stay as conversative as possible with my predictions:

Nintendo

Animal Crossing is likely to be heavily featured here, with gameplay demonstrations and a look at how WiiSpeak works. Obviously WiiMusic and probably Sport Resort are going to show up in some capacity (Do the press get to try the games here? If so, Music will have a strong showing seeing as it laucnhes soon), but I'm hoping atleast one new game from Nintendo. Pikmin 3 perhaps? Something big is bound to be announced.

Not expecting much of say... Disaster, seeing as they've launched it in Japan already. But maybe they will have stands there, for people to get some impressions and help get some word of mouth going around.

Third Parties

Alright, I'm going to go ahead and say I don't expect much coming from 3rd parties here, but only because TGS is just around the corner. Marvelous aren't likely to be there very strong, but the XSEED published Kizuna might be given it's chance to shine here instead of at the over crowded TGS. What I HOPE HOPE HOPE is shown here is The Crystal Bearers (yeah, conservative). Actually Any support in the from of a S-E game would be huge for me, and probably not too crazy an idea.

Oh, and MAYBE some Monster Hunter 3.

Around the Network

I really want there to be something big, but I don't know how comfortable I am making predictions. I expect Nintendo to show off something pretty big, preferrably Zelda, but I know we shouldn't be expecting that. However, like Soriku says, they have a Japan AND a NA-event at the same time... suggests that they should atleast have SOMETHING big.

My advice to everyone is to keep your expectations low. Nintendo's obviously planning something, but if you don't create unrealistic expectations in your head beforehand, I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised. Otherwise...

Personally, I'm unsure what to expect because there are two conferences in two separate regions. Wii Music and Animal Crossing will likely show up in both of them, but Japan already has Fire Emblem DS, Fatal Frame IV, and Disaster, while North America does not, so those won't even be mentioned in Japan (is that why NA's is a two-day event?).

Taking a stab at this, I'll posit that Nintendo will unveil part of the early '09 lineup (one or two games, perhaps?), and that third-parties will get a bit of attention. But I'm not even sure about that modest assumption...

I'll say this: since they have a Japan and NA event, there's gotta be something big.

Zelda?! ;_;

YES PLEASE.

I don't expect it to ne there at all, I do however expect SOMETHING big to be here.

If you make unrealistic expectations and then they don't come true, you only have yourself to blame.

Can we keep this sort of response to a minimum please? Or atleast until some people do make wild preditions would be nice.

I predict disappointment for anybody with high hopes, I would love to be wrong though.

-UBISOFT BOYCOTT!-

i'm guessing
kirby wii(since this game is listed as 2008 japan release so it may be save bet),
punch out,
kid icarus,
factor 5 new project,
retro studios new project,
nintendo as a conduit publisher,
something else;)

F-zero wii

I expect showing of 2 new games at the conference from Nintendo. Also one big new game from a third party. And one announcement about new feature or update to the wii.

I love fighting games !!! Come on challenge me !
