Forums - Nintendo - Lords of Thunder or Ys Book 1&2 ?

Since you are interested in retro shooters, make sure you don't miss Blazing Lazers. And.....since you are interested in retro RPGs, make sure you don't miss Neutopia and Neutopia 2. Yes, they are blatant Zelda rip-offs, but they are damn good Zelda rip-offs.

Keep this in mind when reading what I type...

I've been gaming longer than many of you have been alive.

Around the Network

Ys III is ok... a huge drop from Ys book 1 & II and it has some terrible scrolling but you might like it.. the genny/snes has the best versions but the pc engine cd rom has best music and cut scenes

What saddened me is that we probably will never get a english version of Ys IV dawn of YS on VC cause it was never released outside Japan and from what I saw on youtube it is a really fantastic episode

It wasn't half-bad, although I actually preferred I, II, and VI better. Still, since this is one of those games you'll never be able to play otherwise, you could just download the ROM, and a translation patch. I assure you, neither one is hard to find...and if they do release a VC version, just assauge your feeling of guilt by buying it. Problem solved!

Ys III was my intro to the series, so it holds a special place in my heart. That said, it doesn't hold a candle to the rest. Do you by chance know where I can pick up a copy of Oath in Felghana for a reasonable price? I've been desperate to play it, but I can't find a copy here...

Great game but I prefer Soldier Blade. I'm interested in the two Neutopia, when I have some Wiipoints maybe I'll try them.
