This is nice. i love level 5 and it seems they are going all out on this game. I really wonder if xbox can hold a huge game like this in Native 1080p? I guess the release of ff13 will tell all.

Good job Level 5 as i will be getting this 1st day no questions asked...(unless it sucks of course lol)

This'll turn out well, first of all, no one mentioned the xbox, so you're clearly flame baiting here.

Secondly, for it to run 1080p:

Framerate will probably be 10-15 FPS
OR
Graphics will look like crap

Wipeout HD ?

Wow.

Labelling the story of WKC as on par with Dragon Quest has caused a disturbance in the force.

Fanboys on both sides of the Sony/Nintendo divide are being forced to deny the quality of a game they once praised due to unequivocal hate for a flagship associated with an opposing company's console.

DQ has a pretty sweet story by Japanese standards. That may not be saying that much as far as JRPG's go. But surely WKC fans weren't unrealistic enough to think WKC was going to have a story of such high quality as Mass Effect or Oblivion?

Hope for the best of the JRPG's (Lost Odyssey, FFX etc), not the best of the RPG's storywise.

I recognize myself as a Sony fanboy, but I'll be the first to admit that I don't feel sorry for losing DQ to Nintendo, DQVIII was one of the worst game I've ever played, and by far the worst story in an RPG in the last 10 years. And JRPGs can have good stories, check Xenosaga for example, its story is better than many WRPG (Oblivion and Mass Effect included, and yes, I've played Mass Effect)

Bolded: Huh? I've personally always held WKC in high regard due to the history of Level-5's past games as I'm sure many have. Surely not as high as I regard FFXIII but I don't see how they are connected (pretty sure that is the game you're refering to to, right?).

Italicized: I'm very much of the opposite. I typically dislike the stories of most WRPG's and while I don't think most JRPG's have good/average stories, I think their best are above and beyond any type of RPG.

Bolded:  The opposite.  A few Sony fans in this thread are suddenly sceptical of WKC because it has been compared to DQ, a Nintendo-affiliated franchise.  Personally, I am pumped for WKC.

Italicize:  Agree to disagree?  I find the vast majority of JRPG's to have rather generic, boring and linear storylines.  That said, they often have more interesting characters than WRPG's.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

Isa Japanese magazine, Dragon Quest is a cult there, so i believe that was said to attract more of the J-audience... I don't mind a DQ story (especially if it is like 3 or 8), but i'm sure this was said only to build hype on J-gamers...

Bolded: I realized shortly after I had posted, sorry about that. But on that note, I loved DQVIII regardless of its story and can't wait for DQIX on the DS. I'll admit, I was initially skeptical of having large scale RPG's on a handheld, but after playing FFIV DS,those worries are completely erased.

Italicized: Definately. I think I should have labeled my preferences a bit more carefully. I can't argue that JRPG storylines are not typically generic and linear (I really don't mind linear though, I like it to read like a good book) because they are, but it is the characterizations that I'm attracted to. So I can certainly understand why you would think otherwise.

And BTW: Nintendo affiliated franchise??? The first 2 DQ were on the MSX also, DQ7 and 8 were on the PS1 and PS2 respectively... Their console of choice has nothing to do with loyalty...

Not because of that at all. I'm sceptical of its storyline, if it truly is DQ-like, then it's not good. If you played some DQ games you should know.

Suikoden have had the best storylines for me.  Looking at your avatar, did you not realize that???

;)

Hackers are poor nerds who don't wash.

guys.....DQ story was merely said to gain publicity n hype.

ye know like over here we may say Resistance is a "Halo-Killer"

in Japan their probably like...."well we hat Halo so we will hate Resistance too"

its an article written & a statement made for the point of view of Japan

I know, Suikoden have some of the best stories ever, but if I say that nobody would get it because nobody played it, at least Xenosaga was a bit more popular
