Wow.

Labelling the story of WKC as on par with Dragon Quest has caused a disturbance in the force.

Fanboys on both sides of the Sony/Nintendo divide are being forced to deny the quality of a game they once praised due to unequivocal hate for a flagship associated with an opposing company's console.

DQ has a pretty sweet story by Japanese standards. That may not be saying that much as far as JRPG's go. But surely WKC fans weren't unrealistic enough to think WKC was going to have a story of such high quality as Mass Effect or Oblivion?

Hope for the best of the JRPG's (Lost Odyssey, FFX etc), not the best of the RPG's storywise.

Bolded: Huh? I've personally always held WKC in high regard due to the history of Level-5's past games as I'm sure many have. Surely not as high as I regard FFXIII but I don't see how they are connected (pretty sure that is the game you're refering to to, right?).

Italicized: I'm very much of the opposite. I typically dislike the stories of most WRPG's and while I don't think most JRPG's have good/average stories, I think their best are above and beyond any type of RPG.

Bolded:  The opposite.  A few Sony fans in this thread are suddenly sceptical of WKC because it has been compared to DQ, a Nintendo-affiliated franchise.  Personally, I am pumped for WKC.

Italicize:  Agree to disagree?  I find the vast majority of JRPG's to have rather generic, boring and linear storylines.  That said, they often have more interesting characters than WRPG's.
