Have you ever played Resistance 1?

I've played and owned Gears of War for the XBox360 and Resistance 1.  I've played both to completion, Resistance 1 on normal, Gears of War on Insane.  I've also played both in multiplayer and co-op.  And Resistance 2 looks to completely overshadow Resistance 1 on every single front.  But the reason of why it does is because, as you said, Gears of War 1 already did so many things well, that there really wasn't as much room for improvement.

OT:  Gears of War 2 will sell 5 million, Resistance 2 will sell 3 million.

The first one sold 5.25 million units according to VGC, the worldwide Userbase of the Xbox360 was 5.36 million when Gears of war was released. This is pretty big.

When Gears of war 2 gets released, the Xbox360 Userbase will be like 21.5 million. I am not saying the game sales will increase the same way, but we can expect quite a jump. Halo2 topped Halo by 2 million, I don't see why this can't happen with Gears. 7 million might be possible. (of course lifetime, not this year)

Nope, you're mistaken. Halo 3 was never bundled by MS in the US (about 98% sure). What you are referring to is halo 3 themed console, game is not included.

It states "Your choice of halo 3 game" (bundled at store level), and below that it states what's included in the halo themed console.

And yes, Resistance was bundled with 40gb ps3 and NBA 08.

You know how much Sony would care what you think if they had a game that could generate the ammount of revenue that Halo does for Microsoft?  Sony would sacrifice half the SOE team to the gaming gods :p  Really I think Sony and Nintendo would like  a game that drives that kind of revenue.  As for KZ2... the developer doesn't have a good track record I'm afraid.

Target has a halo 3 bundle where you do not get a choice in games.  This may be a retailler bundle and not a M$ but your mention of the 40gb Resistance is a retailler bundle and not a sony bundle

Halo 3 was bundled in the UK, and still is in some stores even today (the 60gb was bundled with Halo 3 in Argos, for example).

Resistance was bundled for 3 months across all PAL territories, it also had the benefit of being a (tainted) gem in a heaping pile of shit.

Both Gears 2 and Resistance 2 are likely to see some form of bundling in PAL.

In terms of improvement, Resistance 2 will have a greater increase in metascores over RFoM, but will likely end up beaing similar to Gears 2.

Factoring these things in:

Resistance - 3.5-4.5
Gears 4.5-6.0

gears will sell more, but not a penny of that profit goes in your back pocket, so if your a gamer it wont matter, as the grafix and gameplay and number of online players doesnt increase or decrease because of the sales.

for the record, although it cannot be tracked, gears was heavily bundled in the uk unofitially.
