I think next week the ps3 will beat the 360 by atleast 5K. Anyone want to quote me on this???

If they knew it would have been 1 week after a price cut in America and Japan, and the week of a European price cut, I'd wonder how many people honestly didn't think we'd see that.

 

I was thinking about earlier ths year, when it looked like we'd see the PS3 steadily run the 360 down, like leading up to and after MGS4 momentum.  I thought 360 would hang in ok in America, but be losing constantly worldwide - like no worldwide winning weeks ever again.

16,961 is what I see for UK.

 

You're right.  I checked my history and I had accidentally the last two weeks selected instead of one.

Oh... Boring week. I think next week the 360 will do better... just because I think it will. Course since the 360 already had a price cut this year (right?) maybe people are thinking it'll have another before Christmas and are thus holding off.

Maybe.  But as the total numbers sold increase, the margin the Wii needs to outsell the others by increases as well.  For example, we are currently at about 68 million for the 3 consoles combined.  To go up by .1%, Wii needs to outsell the rest by 680k.  So if they sell 1 million and 360+PS3 equals 320k.  But then that's another 1.3 million units.  So then .1% is 693k instead of 680k.

And so on.  So as the numbers get bigger the rate of increase in market share will get slower, even if they all sell at the same exact pace each week.

 

Math is fun.

Japan seem is always sold out or supply constrained.

360 has been getting outsold 20-40K by the PS3 each week in Others until this week. Off of just 2 days of a price cut the 360 is within 5k of PS3.....that my friends, is awesome.

People were just saying "360 will get outsold by at least 10-20k BY PS3, even with Europe price cut", and "WW sales are what matters, 360 cant make up the difference in NA". Now it's "360 price cut did horrible because it didnt outsell PS3 in Others,". In 2 days people.....2 DAYS!!

The lack of consistency in posts is astounding, XD. Great job 360, keep it up!!
