Thanks for keeping this going Arc. I have been tanking 2018 for trophies - yikes!!!

PSN: Saugeen-Uwo     Feel free to add me (put Vg Chartz as MSG)!

Nintendo Network ID: Saugeen-Uwo

Yay, Updated!!! ty Arc. Still top spot, but not for long i guess. Im soooo into Overwatch that i completely play nothing else haha!

Got the plat for Heavy rain.
There's a lot of a pain in the ass trophy.

Well.. now I got an Ultra Rare 0.1% (it's probably closer to 0.01%) plat from Trackmania Turbo. I'll probably never play a Trackmania game again (this was my first), as the shit is crazy frustrating and a good portion of the 200 tracks are "hit ramp/shikane/boost pad pixelperfect or die" crap.

Last night I finally got the Platinum for The Last Guardian. Oh man I'm gonna miss Torico.

Not gonna miss sitting around for 10 minutes waiting for a hint to come up though, I bet. Or pointing at something and telling Trico to move his ass over and over again, especially not when you're on a timer.

Those are two of the most ill-conceived trophies/achievements I've ever seen in a game. One that forces you to play like you're retarded so that all of the hints show up, and another that forces you to rush through a game that's intentionally slow-paced so as to build up a relationship between the characters and which relies on a wild creature that is not particularly well trained to follow orders.

The fact remains that despite Torico's lack of discipline, trophies are still doable. I know cause I did them all... And to be honest, the notion of frustrating trophies was not invented here, I can tell you about other games with trophies that makes you wanna smash your head on the wall and jump off your window.

Personally the only part that I really found annoying was when I was stuck and hanging from a tree. Took me a while to figure out how to get out of that spot. Once I did it was not so hard but let's say if it's your first play through, that part can be annoying.

As for Torico himself, you (as a lot of people) missed the point. Torico IS AN ANIMAL so if they had made him so that he obeys and acts the same a machine or robot does in other games then it wouldn't  have felt natural. If you have a gun in some shooter game and it does not shoot the very second you push your button, you will be frustrated and very rightfully. A gun or any other machine is supposed to react immediately when triggered.

But Torico is a beast and is NOT supposed to behave like a machine, instead Torico is AMAZINGLY well animated, feels very organic and the way he annoyingly sometimes did not behave as you expect (This one time I told him to go in this direction and instead he goes in the opposite as I'm standing on his back) makes him feel incredibly real and you can't help but talk to your TV as you play "No, you stupid beautiful Torico, not that way, this way..." The experience (when you are the right person for this kind of game) is amazingly strong and emotional, you create a bond with the creature and that's why this game is what it is. It was NEVER meant to be you and a robot that does exactly what you say, but you and an animal that you need to tame over time and create a bond with.

I'm sorry so many people did not get it and I guess this kind of game as amazing as it is, is only meant to be understood by a minority. Honestly I bow down to you Mr Fumito Ueda for going ahead and keeping this game "pure" despite the obvious pressure you must have had to make it into some kind of generic and ordinary experience that would perhaps appeal to a broader range of gamers.

The Last Guardian just like Shadow of the Colossus and ICO are masterpieces that transcend the standard requirements of what makes video games good. They go above and beyond and it takes a certain sort of people to appreciate that.

Woah, holy shit, hold up dude, you're being way too defensive, and you've assumed a whole lot of stuff about me and my view of this and other Team Ico games which is simply not the case.

If Id've known you'd react like that I would've kept the ribbing of the game's trophies to myself...

I guess I was kind of defensive, it's just that usually you deal with people that are shut to this particular form of art which I am quite sensitive to.

I did not mean to assume anything about you, I'm only reacting to your post, I hope you can understand that. From there it's up to you to tell me that you are not so insensitive to this game and then give your reasons.

But by all means do not keep your opinions to yourself about this game or any other. I am one that strongly stands with my opinions and staunchly defends it so I could not ask of you or anyone to refrain from doing the same

OVERWATCH platinum!!! Im so happy!  My rarest thus far :)
