I think its new average would be 230k - 260k

300k+ weekly average in worldwide console sales.

In America maybe 80k-100k and in Europe about Wii levels.

Not much better because it would be facing a $99 Xbox 360 and a $149 Wii. That in turn would destroy PS2 sales.

I hate to say this, but the PS3 is NOT averaging 170k - 200k a week
It's more in the range of 170k - 130k (rough estimate)
At least, PS3 has not been selling more than 170k since the week after MGS4 launch, according to VGChartz.

As for pricedrops, I really do not believe that they would help as much as that. Perhaps a 10-20k average boost. 30k at the most. Definatly not 60.

Since Sony is taking a loss on every console sold , they could give me one for only half of what they are losing. Give me half of what you are losing and I'll take it.

On a serious note, it would anhilalate the 360 but still be in a distant second.

Honestly, I think it would sell about what it's selling now, maybe a little higher. The 360 will settle back into similar numbers in a few weeks as well.

I honestly don't believe that price has much to do with how these consoles are selling. If price were a major factor, then we should expect to see lower-end SKUs consistently outselling higher-end ones. Aside from the 360's still-recent price drop, we haven't seen that; the higher-end SKU wins when there are two and the middle SKU wins when there are three, but in no case other than this most recent one have the low-end SKUs ever won or even gotten much of a hold.
